I can sign up now too to the list who have this sound problem.
I only noticed it today, since I havent done wzs in a while, but now its ingame too. after one wz, it came up while questing, wth.
please do not tell me to run repair, I run repair after each patch to get rid of any pottential problems, and I have already run one after the issue started, no problems came up.
FIX this damn issue. I love the game, but this is getting on my nerves.

I have run the repair tool so many times it is insane.
Just ran System Integrity check and zero file problems.
Just ran maleware and virus scan from Microsoft Essentials and zero problems.
Just did a registry scan for problems and zero problems.

But fire up SWTOR and in 1 hour it will crash for no apparent reason other then it is badly written.

This is a unfinished product dropped on the customer like a bomb and suffers from bad management and no testing.

I think everybody in this thread has come to the conclusion that repairing the client does nothing to fix the sound issues.

well, the only thing I achieved with the repair, is that at least now I dont have the issue while questing, wzs are still horrible.

Can you please try running the Repair function on the launcher. To do this please open the launcher and then click on the Cog icon.

If you are running the game in full screen mode, could you also try putting it into Windowed by hitting Alt + Enter.

Thank you for your continuing patience in this matter.
These aren't the droids we're looking for!

First thing i'm going to say is that I find it very infuriating that this issue is not listed on the known issues since 1.2 thread. This bothers me alot. This tells me you don't care or don't plan on fixing it any time soon. I will sum up all sound issues the best I can since customer service seems to be confused on what is going on.

1) Speeder sounds do not stop when you stop. They keep going as if you are driving full throttle while idle. This is an annoyance but not a game breaker.

2) Summon your companion. Any companion. Pull out your light sabre (right hand) while your companion is on your left. Right click the companion to make him speak. Listen. You can use headphones or just a 2.1 speaker set up. The companions voice will only show up out of the left speaker. The light sabre sound will only show up out of the right speaker. Turn your camera so the companion is on the right and the light sabre on the left. The companion sound will only show up on the right and the light sabre will only show up on the left. Turn your camera so the companion is directly in front of you. Companions voice then shows up in both speakers properly. Its as if the game is forcing a surround sound type of soundfx even though i'm clearly using a 2.1 speaker setup or a basic 2 headphone setup.

3) No matter what you do. Questing. Space Combat. PVP. Flashpoint. Operation. Hanging out in your ship. Running around on a planet. Very quickly your sound will, what i call, break. I dont know what the word i'm looking for is so i will say that ANYWHERE you stand that has any value(such as quest mobs for a quest youre on, pvp capture nodes, galaxy map, bosses, etc etc) will produce a looping static sound through your speakers. This static does not go away. However, it does fade if you run away from it appropriately. Turning down my volume allows me to listen to ventrilo instead of the static. The only problem with this is that, over time, the static gets louder and louder. You have to keep turning down your volume to compensate. This static after a few hours gets so loud you literally hear nothing else. You cant even escape it on your ship. Its all you hear.

Finally i will say that i want this issue recognized because every player on The Fatman has this issue. I believe the confusion lies in where it comes from and how often. So i collected as much as i could to give you a good idea as to not confuse people. This needs to be RECOGNIZED by the customer service team & the developers. It needs to be listed on the KNOWN ISSUES SINCE 1.2 thread. Not put aside because you gave us 30 days free. Repairing the launcher 1 time or 30 times does NOT fix this issue. Stop telling us to do that after 3 weeks of having this bug. I'm not sure if its server specific or not but i've heard its a server side issue and not client side since people who join the server at the same time ALL gain this static bug at the exact same time. Please do something because its ruining my enjoyment of your game.

Good summary. Pretty much nailed it.

This is game breaking in many ways to some of us...audio ques are something YOU (Bioware) have focused on...geezus, just look at how much of your budget went into VOICE ACTING! Everything is being negatively impacted by your inability to resolve this 3 week old bug now...it's getting ridiculous.
I understand being frustrated, but using it as a tone of voice to communicate your problems helps no one. Bioware has always been a company that strives to help out its fanbase and this is no difference. Is it an issue? Yes. Does it warrant their attention? Yes. But we as fans must also be respectful when bringing these matters to their attention.

As for my issue, the repair function did solve it. No more annoying crackle sound. Thank you for informing me that it existed.

I think we are well passed that and even so it changes nothing.
