Server population is dropping...

It is worth noting that right now WOW is offering basically a free lvl 80 on any server or a free transfer for one of your 85's to any server if you go back to it, putting pressure on SWTOR. This was one of the deciding factors in my guild leaving yesterday when they voted between WOW and Rift. They could easily transfer their characters and consolidate the guild on the blackrock server (one of the healthiest WOW servers) for free.

SWTOR needs to be able to compete with that and I hope they come up with something satisfactory.

in reality server transfers will do more harm. I say this because people will transfer off absolute dead servers to the heaviest ones or maybe a standard one. In doing so the server they left behind becomes that much deader and far worse for people there. What bioware should do is consolidate the servers, and close some down. They need to swallow that pride of theirs and realize that they seriously messed up making and opening that many servers in the first month.

I hear you good sir. Really. My guild was heavy PvP, and has gone fro about 150 active members (not characters) to about 25-30 now, with an average concurrency of 8.
It's depressing on some level, as I honestly believe on the whole warzones are good, and group balanced well. Open World is a tragic non-existant disaster, but they can't fix that overnight. They just better not screw it up a second time :/

Oh, and I made a thread about Blizzard's similar desperation tactics these days too, but I suppose I shouldn't have started a thread specifically on it, as it got closed for not being about TOR

They should just close 2/3-1/2 of the servers. Populations will go up, content will be easier to group for and the MMO sense that we had in December will return.

Transfers only will suck what little remaining life that's left on dead servers. But, we can only imagine what BW will do.

61 people on Tassaa Bareesh republic side on prime time. Biggest guild of the server. We are all talking about quitting.

This sux. I don't want to go back to WoW and GW2 looks just horrible. I don't this game is ready to be abandoned but they need to fix some serious needs of both PvP and PvE.

TTK needs to be toned way down in PvP. Someone needs to come up with some better WZ maps. I saw a video of GW2 and although the gameplay looks aweful the map looked incredible. I don't think WoW has been so successful because they cater to the whiners, but they have made the game fun for almost aspects. The only terrible class imbalance I ever saw the was when DKs first came out.

I will try to stick it out with swtor as I love the star wars series and being a Jedi. If the content and class imbalances don't get straightened out then I guess I'll move on. My server Iron Citadel lasted a month and I have noticed a decline of about 50%.
