Again, for missing sounds or some sounds that are blasting try setting all of your sound sliders in preferences to 80 and hit apply, it does the same thing as manually editing the file.

It will add the "missing" entries to the ini file.
Would be nice if more folks could confirm if this works.

So Bioware takes the time to roll out a patch to buff snipers yet doesn't fix the sound issues that have been reported by many people? Glad you have your priorities straight Bioware.............it really detracts from leveling my alts when the cutscenes never play the voice files anymore. and various sounds aren't playing like they should. FIX IT...this should have been priority one yet you patch other stuff without fixing this....ridiculous.

Partially works for me. Instead of the sound degrading after 20-30 min of play, it degrades after 2-4 hours of play. Not ideal but better. Granted, that's just a few days of data. I could be having "a good streak", so who knows...
I still miss 1990s FMV. I miss Wing Commander 3-4. I actually don't want a game. I’d prefer CYOA interactive movies any day. Until then, video games are the closest I can get...

After update/server down yestarday i lost some sound, can be that background sound was not enabled, enabled it but didnt restart game.

The strange thing is it worked at the start but it felt like more and more sound disapered the longer i played, i didnt hear they planet the bomb on the door, 1/10 times i heard my companion go or come back from crafting mission.

Yep, still losing sounds one by one ending up to total silence except some background humming/buzzing after few hours.

I can confirm that. I played PVP and normally the sound bug starts within minutes. Now I hear the speaker all the time. maybe I know the problem: It seems a float to integer calculation. With in integer as a variable like 80 or 100 (like the standard setting) there are very few sound bugs, even in PVP.
So: Do NOT CHANGE the sound setting WITHIN the game or use just the standard setting. Best way: Edit the file and start SWTOR. Maybe we can be closer to the sound bug salution?

I am still having sound loss after 1/2 hour to 1 hour of play. Originally I thought this only to occur whilst play PVP but it has been doing this everywhere. It makes running Hard Modes and PVP somewhat difficult when you are used to rely on these sounds as warning and indicators.

Can this PLEASE be fixed during the next maintenance as it is a significant gameplay bug?!

We have had 2 (or is it three) maintenance downtimes since 1.2 was released which this sound bug originated. A fix seem a long time coming...

Having the same problems. Sounds don't seem to connect properly to combat any more. Thinking of cancelling my subscription if not fixed soon

Been having this issue well before 1.2. Its getting to the point that all i can do is relog everytime it happens, but ive recently relogged and the sound goes after 5/10mins. This is starting to annoy me to the point im limiting my playtime due to the simple fact that i cannot enjoy a game that looses sound every 10mins (timeframe is for me and not a general estimate)

It does not for some reason because this is the first thing I tried when I noticed my sounds were screwed up. The settings that were present in the file matched my settings from within the game. But the the voice settings were missing all together. I can't explain why that is. That is just my experience.
