You know its sad when you do a /who 50 an see 34 people online.. Even when Shien is heavy, if you do a corrilated /who each 10 levels, the combined population is LOWER then the lowest server on Asherons Call (Released on November 2, 1999) .. thats something stark, an sad.. /sigh

You know it's bad news when the developers values total subscription over concurrent activity.

You know it's even worst when they trumpet that onto news sites and during interviews!

"Hey guys! Not enough people cancelled yet, but they've just stopped playing. GREAT SUCCESS! We're still raking in money even though people aren't logging on anymore due to <insert failure(s)>! Nothing to worry about at all, yep!"
Outnumbered on all sides. Inferior version of "mirrored" abilities. Republic players are the real underdogs playing the game on hard mode. Show pride in your tenacity.

So, there are 25-30 people at 7PM server time on Imperial fleet,a few of them doing pvp and a few others - ops. Last time I visited Ilum there were no more then 3-4 people there. I have not heard of anyone on my server doing a 16 man op and general chat is always silent. There is no competing, my guild has a whole bunch of server firsts in ops, so what? Explosive conflict was cleared hours after it was released and there are no mechanisms which would complicate any encounter and provide better gear/rewards/titles. What I'm talking about is encounters like yogg-saron in ulduar (WoW) where you could leave the last 4 bosses alive which complicates the fight insanely, but it does provide you with a truely unique reward. Why wasn't such an option introduced here?

Back during release there were atleast 300 people in the fleet every day and hundreds more on different planets but the game feels just as empty/deadish now as it was back then. I personally interpret the results of this "MMO-story" experiment as a failure (not from an economical point of view, I'm sure they've already made a lot of money)

Did you actually even read the interview? Apparently not....otherwise you would have noticed the parts where it says "We're doing everything we can to get people to log in".

They never said they valued total subscription over concurrent activity. It was just an explanation.

Been trying to do Mandalorian flashpoint for over a hour....can't get a group. Not fun. This is peak time right now too.

The game's design is flawed when it comes to teaming. Huge planets with small level ranges. Long (compared to other MMOs) travel times to help friends / guildies.

It's telling that the most common form of teaming I've seen is warzones. You click two buttons, you're placed in a queue, you're teleported to the location, and instantly placed in a team. No jerking around with ships, airlocks, walking, speeders, level differences between teammates minimized, &c..

The devs also need to give the players tools so they can build their own communities beyond glorified chat channels (errrr, guilds). Housing, event calendars, player-organized events, interesting open world PvP ... there are LOTS of options.

Games fine bros.
Meanwhile, in Tera general chat -

"The sad thing is, arguing with fanbois on the forums was more entertaining than their 300 million dollar single player MMO from 2008"

I think that BioWare should definitely merge together some servers. OP has a point when it comes to the fact that, if you are a social player (like me), you'll want to group. And if the pop. is too low, you're less likely to find a group and subsequently quit.

Not too many servers must be merged, but I think that they should combine the servers that are rated as "Light" most of the time, with servers that are on the lower side of the "Standard" spectrum. That should get rid of Light servers and make only Standard, Heavy, Very Heavy and Full. Then, they should allow free character transfers from Full, and Very Heavy servers to the Standard servers for a limited time, allowing players to shift to these lower populated ones.

The server populations should definitely start balancing out after this... or not, this is just speculation.

However, I would like to see paid character services from BW soon, and server transfer had better be on that list.

Once they get a cross-server group finder system in place, I won't care so much about server population.

I do think they should adjust all of the "HEROIC" quests to 2+ though. It's next to impossible to reliable find groups for the 4 HEROICs when overall pops are down.
