The real epic fail is that you did not buy a few DNA samples, blew up 2 extra times or used your DNA another way.

The vaccine only lasts 6 hours of gametime. Forcing someone to pay 2k every 6 hours for not wanting to participate in the event is a bit ridiculous.

If you were really bent about having to spend 2k a few times, you could have asked nicely for someone to provide a stim. You would have very likely gotten one. Not to mention that if you would have unpuckered yourself for a little while and enjoyed the content, you would have been awarded free stims.

True this, I'll bet I'm not alone in that I was vendor trashing stacks of serum after getting them as rewards and only ever using them when bugged.
