A good feature that WoW doesn't have. This is a good direction to take.

Players can mail cross faction to any character on their account. The legacy tree has no effect on this.

Problems:

1. Griefing by undercutting
2. Clutter from tons of faction restricted items
3. Deflation due to a larger market/more undercutting

Benefits:
1. Makes dead server GTN's appear to be less dead
2. Larger selection of crafted goods

Seems to me like it's a PR move so that dead servers appear more lively. I anticipate lots of problems.

There would be so many items on the GTN people will just under cut folks just to do it. How many Biochemist will put up adrenals to be sold. A holy crap ton. Maybe link 5 to 6 servers together to do it. Make it a war group???

I don't see a problem with that: double the amount of products, double the amount of potential buyers. Undercutting will be minimal since griefers will lose money by doing it which will grow old quick for them. Seems like an all around good move IMO.

Selling stuff cheaper than you is griefing? That word has lost all meaning by now.

The faction based GTNs should stay faction based.

The Neutral GTNs could access both factions. That will make them useful and worth the 4.5 million.

Having all GTNs linked will just create a huge mess.

I can't think of any economics reason why merging the markets would lead to deflation. Increased competition should reduce prices, but that is not the same as deflation.

Griefing by undercutting? Deflation? Thats just consequences of an open market. What you call clutter everyone else would call choice. Already many cross faction items change appearance if you mail them to an alt on another faction. You just sound like your looking to complain for the sake of complaining about one of the few great ideas BW has come up with in regards to this game.

Apart from different prices for the same items I dont see the difference between Imp & Rep GTN anyway.
I see JK/Smuggler restricted armor / schemantics on the Imp GTN. I see Sith Warrior only stuff on the Rep GTN.

Yes, of course prices will adjust. Yes, I will lose income because atm I buy low on one GTN and sell high on the other.

But it's a damn good decision and saves me the trouble (when looking for schemantics for my main) to write down what is available on the other GTN and double check if I still need said schemantic.
