To the OP. Instead of plain complaining of something.

Why not post a time that will not affect anyone at all? Not just you, but every single player. As reading thru the posts, the majority are accepting and ok with the time. Even some Australian players.

Now remember you have to take into consideration all time zones. EU, US, Pacifica, and the fact that they are keeping a global service, aka all servers from all regions down at the same time.

Balls in your court. Show Bioware a better time that, as i stated, affects not one single person.

My moneys on you cannot come up with a better time that affects the least amount of players.

US gets it before EU (tuesday vs wednesday)

The sentence this was in response to is still correct.

Americans make up the vast majority of the player base currently so when the sentence, "They do it at this time because this is the time when most people are asleep," is used, it is used in the proper context and is correct.

I can't believe people still complain about this.

It's also sort of depressing how many people don't seem to understand the inner workings of our solar system, in particular, the rotation of the earth as it travels around the sun.
Stop exploding you cowards!

I'm pretty sure the sun goes around the earth...

and the world revolves around ME!

Ah you're right, I was thinking of Expansion launches (due to time zones). Either way, there's never any major complaining about it. Even at Expansion launches!

No matter what system is implemented, some players will be affected. If BioWare were to move the time to coincide with the time you are in the office, then some other player working night shifts would be affected. Explain to us why it is you believe that you deserve special treatment.

People also underestimate the number of Canadians that play. My guild is chock full of Canukislovakians.

So when people discuss "American" time zones, they tend to be including those in Canada as well. Some people say North American, which is proper and includes (believe it or not) Mexico as well. Most people (particularly Americans) just say "American" which is a bit lazy and doesn't encompass the entirety of what they are trying to convey.

I'm a West coast dad with 3 kids and a wife. I don't start playing until 10 - 10:30 pm on the 3 nights a week that I let myself play. Unfortunately, one of those nights is Monday night which falls on their schedule every damn week. And with my luck, another night is Thursday which also had maintenance last week. Very frustrating indeed.

Anyone know why they require weekly maintenance times? This is my 5th MMO (DAOC, WOW, WHO, Rift), and none of the others were down like this. And why can't they start it in the wee hours of the night at say 2 - 4 am? Midnight is still relatively early.

Anyway, as much fun as I'm having with SWTOR, this maintenance is close to chasing me away. Has BW given any indication that this is a temporary deal, or is this maybe not the game for my schedule?
This thread actually brought a tear to my eye. Seriously. No, really it did.

No it didn't. In fact, I chuckled.
