I get what your saying, though MMO's do require a certain amount of sculpting from player ideas.
Boxers are aiming to be the best, simply by using techniques previously tested and improving them. Where as this particular MMO has to follow a lore story-line that is suitable for heaps of fans that can be extremely knowledgeable about SW and also live up to the expectations on its other players which mostly want a great MMO...

I fully agree with what your saying about advertisement, it should be out their, everywhere.

I agree...But like I said in the thread....

People have to have some disagreements to form the best of ideas...

Well I appreciate that but honestly I wish that Bioware/EA would take a look at some of these good points that the community makes as a whole and start acting on them and giving the player base what they really want instead of having some corporate big wig that has never played a video game in his life come up with the "next big thing". Is it really so hard to bounce some ideas off the people that actually play the game? "Hey we want to make an expansion so here is what we came up with. Now do you like option A, B, C or D"? But then you have the whole "the forum doesn't represent the entire base" crap which is best responded to by "yes but we are the most vocal and we actually play the damn game".

No matter where it is in any market in the world big business always finds a way to screw things up by thinking that their customers are too stupid to make a decision on their own. I live in the world where any company in this country will send your debt balance to collections for $9.50. That is the reality and stupidity of modern business and it's taught by the worst and absolute dumbest of the population that think that just because they hold a piece of paper that they know better. You want to do well in business? Give the customer want they want. That has always been the golden rule. Your Harvard degree doesn't make you God.

I will weigh in on the topic, but it won't be to support the Op. It will be my oppinion based on my experience. Let me first just say that I am a huge fan of Star Wars, and i truely want this game to to do well. But as so many forum posters have already said, you "can't always get what you want."

There are many things that have dissapointed me in this game. Ilum... yeah. Couldn't invit from the guild tab. Fixed I know, but ***? Really?? Daily quests that would bug out so you couldn't complete them the day of, or the day after reset. To my knowlege this issue still continues. Insane long loading times. Alt-tab in and out of the game slows my computer to a crawl... NO other game does this to my system.

Endgame gear looks horrible and no where near what traditional Star Wars gear should look like. Promised removable armorings with set bonuses attached. Yep got it... Oh the pre 1.2 armorings? ehh... not at this time. Guess ur stuck wearing what you have. Legacy level rewards should have been just that... rewards, not an in-game credit sink.

But none of the above issues (and believe me there are many more) have made me decide to take a break and do something more entertaining with my time. I may very well be part of what the 1.7mill subscriber statistic doesn't show... inactive players. I played every day for the most part up until last week, and I have witnessed nothing but a steady decline of online players since early Feb. on my server. Last time i was online I spent an hour and a half looking for a group to run any HM FP and queue'd for WZ's and got nothing. There were 27 players in the fleet and I guess they all wanted to do somethign different.

None of the first set of issues would make me stop playing, I can deal with a few problems until they get sorted out. I don't want flying mounts, although faster mounts would be nice. I don't want a LFG tool. I don't want more endgame content. I don't want more PvP content. All of it is satisfactory... for now.

I just want more population. I'm tired of joining a guild to see it die or already dead. And I'm tired of not being ableto find a group (i'm a tank btw) or waiting forever to get into a WZ. I don't play alts, and I will not start over on a more populated server. To those that want to argue against me, you are just wasting your time. I don't care about your oppinion, and it will not change mine.

Server mergers or free transfers are the only two things that will bring me back to the game that I did enjoy playing. It wasn't my actions that drove the players from my server, so I shouldn't have to pay one cent to have it corrected. It should be noted that I will continue to be an unseen statistic, because $15 a month isn't breaking the bank. But if something else comes along before things happen, I'll just cancel my sub.

All I have to say now is, I wonder how many players are in my same boat? There are just too many people complaining about a lack of population for it to just be chalked up as a bunch of crybabies. Makes me also wonder how many feel this way and don't make a post on the forums about it.

Thanks for the post Vapier!
You make an interesting point, because clearly you have a lot of experience all round.
Its very clear that
- PvP needs work
but I just wonder whether the two ways of possibly fixing the servers population stability would be to offer FREE server transfers to lower population servers and/or maybe advertise the game a lot better.

Just one question, what server do you play on and what type of server is it?
I just transferred from NA to AP - Delborra PvE, and as son as I queue for a WZ I get one.
But of course that is from the higher population.

Thanks again for the feedback...

Slow down, Chester...You do make some good points, but lets take a second look at some things, here.
First off, lack of results does not mean lack of action. Lets take, for an example, Addons. Right now, I haven't seen any for TOR. Does that mean there never will be? Does that mean that nobody is working on them, right now? Oh, theres probably some Bright Spark thats working on them, but we wont know until we start seeing them.

The other thing is, you will never be able to make an expansion/flaspoint/widget/whatever for the game that represents all of the people. Your 'Do you want A, B, C, or D?' question up there isn't because the people making the game don't care...its because they know some people will want Option G...some will want Option Z...some will want Option Pi. Its not that 'The Man' is limiting your choices...its the game developers and writers giving people the option of what can be done, at that moment. But, if you know how to give 1.Godknowshomany million players exactly what each and every individual wants, by all means...head on over to Bioware and show us your skills.

And as for big business screwing up by thinking their customers are too stupid to make a decision about what they want...meh, we will discuss Apple, later.

Flying vehicles don't really make much sense in the universe but they are always a possibility. As for open world pvp, i think the plague event did a really good job in bringing Empire and Republic players close. There were cases where they worked together to achieve a goal (e.g. kill eachother to get blood samples from the explosion) and there were cases where things got heated and there was something like a mini war. I believe there are possibilities out there.

This is just my opinion of course.

Apple? The company that refuses to hire Americans so that they can use slave labor in Asia simply so that they can make a larger profit? Why not just put them on boats and ship them over like we did with the Africans? Steve Jobbs? The man who was such a sell out greedy piece of scum that he couldn't even on his death bed as a billionaire give a single cent to charity? That Apple?

I am not a business man. But I as a consumer know when I am being ignored and, more importantly, ripped off or used. I know how GE takes Government bail outs issued by we the people and turns around and builds plants in Europe and Asia. I know why the only reason that we have no industry left in this country is because slave labor is just so hip and cool (also new and exciting). You want to know how well people accept option A, B, C or D? You have 1.7 subs in this game and Bioware hasn't listened to a word of what we've been saying.

As to addons. Bioware hates it when people make things for their games. It's that special feeling you get when you know you're the smartest person in the special ed class. Can't take that away from them now can we? "The dumb animals did what?!"
