it is likely they dont do that so one group wont say that the other gets preferential treatment..

if they instal the patch on american servers first they like america better etc

The way Blizz stagger their service times, EU always gets the new patch content before America. There's not really much in the way of complaints there.

there would be. trust me. considering how bad people whine and complain about the downtimes here.. there would be riots in the streets if one group got it first before the other..

So you're saying the players here are less mature than in WoW? Not entirely sure about that.

Anyway I'm sure there would be far less complaining than currently about the downtimes. And it wouldn't be seen as bad customer service, which it is now.

I'm a West coast dad with 3 kids and a wife. I don't start playing until 10 - 10:30 pm on the 3 nights a week that I let myself play. Unfortunately, one of those nights is Monday night which falls on their schedule every damn week. And with my luck, another night is Thursday which also had maintenance last week. Very frustrating indeed.

Anyone know why they require weekly maintenance times? This is my 5th MMO (DAOC, WOW, WHO, Rift), and none of the others were down like this. And why can't they start it in the wee hours of the night at say 2 - 4 am? Midnight is still relatively early.

Anyway, as much fun as I'm having with SWTOR, this maintenance is close to chasing me away. Has BW given any indication that this is a temporary deal, or is this maybe not the game for my schedule?
Why not change the day you allow yourself to play? Problem solved.
If that doesn't work then... sorry? You can't expect them to change the date/time to suit individuals. They picked a time for their maintenance and you just happen to have a crappy time. Sucks for you, but that's life.. you can't expect something to please everyone.
Your post just makes you sound like someone who is self entitled. For my sake and that of everyone else don't pass any self-entitlement you might have on to your children.

Also, the "3 kids and a wife" part doesn't garner any sympathy from me. You put yourself in that situation. ^^

I don't have a problem with weekly maintenance. Two week or monthly would be better but it's not so horrible. The part that becomes horrible is maintenance on the heels of so much unscheduled maintenance. Then it gets annoying and feels like too much.

So everyone who disagrees with you is trolling or immature? Really?

Not saying that's not true, but the same can be said for on the WoW Forums too. Yet there's little to no complaints about the EU getting a patch a few hours before America due to staggered down times.

I think BW should call me personally in advance every week to ask when I won't be playing and patch it then...
