No. show me where your own faction attacks you in a similiar fashion. You got infected they want to contain the infection so they attack you. Where else does that happen ?

I would have loved an even fight for the vendor up to shutdown. But the fact is I am on a 3-1 pop server. And in any situation related to world pvp, We have little chance of winning on my server.

Lets talk about what the opposing faction gained doing this. They gained the ability to prevent folks from using a vendor with little to no threat of them being stopped. Is that fun pvp to you? Do you go around find a small child and punt them because its that easy? Any real pvper just wouldn't find that fun and would leave. Yet I saw several organized pvp guilds doing it for the LULZ for hours up until reset. That's not pvp that's greifing, and as such, the organized guilds that participated in it should be actioned against. Just like the guilds that camped inside the other sides Ilum bases and griefed players there for hours.

Funnily enough, I am passionate about this not because I missed out on anything. Its more that a guild member of mine, after working a very late shift, Will never get the chance to turn in his tokens. Way to punish folks for rolling the lower pop side.

One other point, this isn't a hardcore sandbox pvp game. In theme park MMOs pvp has always had rules. Hell even in hardcore pvp games, you aren't allowed to exploit into start areas and kill everyone, and then vendor there **** now. Older games had this more prevalent. But even there they've decided SOME rules are good. Go play one of the tons of unstructured pvp mmos out there if you want no rules. Go find out what being griefed really means before you defend it here.

Some examples of rules I have seen enforced in other theme park MMOs on a pvp server. Repetitive ganking of an individual over an extended period of time, repeatedly killing a quest npc over an extended period of time, and blocking a zone from being entered by the opposing faction over an extended period of time. Fun fact the vendor was camped for over 6 hours till shutdown on my server. If that's not an extended period of time, I don't know what is.

On a side note, its a shame that I was forced to re-post in a thread that is primarily discussing a pve exploit. The previous thread I was in discussed keeping the vendor in. And also discussed the strange decision to put this vendor in a pvp area in the first place. Which wouldn't be a problem on balanced servers.

See, you are wrong.
Nothing in the news reports says that you will be flagged for PvP. When someone exploits this glitch, you don't know you will be flagged for PvP until you are already being attacked. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but it is increasingly difficult to believe you are debating this issue honestly.

I really don't think the Republic players outnumbered at least 3 to 1 would have had much chance to kill the people camping the vendor. You have kind of a naive view of a PVP environment if you think it is always something resembling a fair fight in these situations.

On Sith side, you own faction tries to kill you pretty much all the time.

nice try. This is something that potentially effects a large amount of players. Their is no sense in silence. If they were saying "This is an expliot, do it and once reported you will be banned." Would encourage more people to do it.

I think not.

I did too!! This is the very reason I find the complainers hard to believe.
I too enjoyed the pvp stimulation....for everything but the vendor. It sucked big time to spend a week, especially for the lower level people on my faction, getting their DNA, then at the last hour be denied the use of the vendor. If you'd had that experience you might feel a bit differently. We had guildies who were gone on vacation this week and I'm just glad I had a good idea what they might like and bought it earlier tonight for them. Since I would not have been able to had I waited at all. And....there's not a lot of challenge to the Imps on our server when they outnumber us so severely. If Imps were getting killed they could have killed the people doing the killing.....not indiscriminately slaughtered every Pub in sight during the last minutes of the event. A moratorium for the last TEN minutes even would have been.....the sign of a decent human being behind those Imp computer screens. But I guess you really must not mind spending a week working towards a goal and getting nothing out of it or you might empathize a little. I find the people who say they don't understand the complainers were without exception on the winning side holding the vendor before the patch. What a shock.

We aren't allowed to share the existance of exploits, because it would educate others who might decide to try it out before it's fixed. Bioware telling us about it before they roll out a fix would have the same effect (or possibly a greater one, as it would be an official, attention-grabbing post), and thus be something they would avoid doing.

It's not that it would make people do it, it's that it would spread the knowledge of it, essentially enabling more exploiters.
given the level of this would be glitch and potential of people affected by it, silence doesnt work here. That part you quoted applies to us not them. And means if your right, all of you are in violation of the tos. Thank God your wrong.
