Yeah, there are servers that are pretty darned quiet. I moved a couple times before I found two good ones and it was worth it. I figured that from what was being said at the time merges/transfers weren't going to happen soon enough so I moved and it was so very worth it. Plenty of folk to socialise with and do stuff with. Made a huge difference. Very glad I arsed myself to move instead of waiting.

I agree with the OP. The game is awesome and the most important thing is that they listen to the community and seem to give it a good support (so far).

Most of my guild left because of poor PvP and non-existant RvR (there really is no RvR since 1.2, of course ).

Some class story bugs really didn't help either.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

Secondly, it is not about how much content, it is about content you enjoy doing.

This is absolutely true. Interestingly in this game the "same content" statement is used to disparage playing from one to fifty. In other games it is used to disparage doing raids or level-cap PvP over and over. In both cases it is repeating content, indeed. So pick your re-run! For me, the one to fifty content (different classes) is far more interesting than running the same raid/FP/WZ etc. But that is, of course, my opinion.

If you have played any modern MMO, you will get the "been there, done that with a different skin" feeling really soon.
The lack of population balance and servers going ghost town are just making this more evident.
Perhaps not. I've been at this since MUD days and migrated through most of the MMOs on offer. I find this game to have the potential for longevity because of the content in levels one through fifty. My servers are fine with respect to population. I moved twice to find servers that fit my needs. It will be a very good thing when either merges or transfers occur though.
I picked his quote up from pg 4 as it neatly outlines the divide in opinion. I agree with almost all the poster said yet he , I assume , still plays and I stopped a couple of weeks ago.

I also think the journey is more important but 1-50 was far short, beautiful worlds yet little time spent on them and for that reason the game doesn't have longevity. It's noticeable that a lot of the more vocal supporters are those with many alts and therefore can get the most from the story aspect.

Personally I prefer to concentrate on a main and for me there has been little or nothing to do ( that justifies a subscription) for some time, note: dailies aren't content.

It's the area of PvP that is most disappointing, to pull Ilum so soon after release just shows how badly the design and implementation of non-instanced ( I.e. not warzones ) PvP was.

Been playing since release

Never had an fps issue - it's always been around 60+ fps, maybe dropping to 40 fps in some situations - and that's with just an average level PC

From my experience - low fps often means the pc has some software or hardware issues

Agree - the social aspect is lacking - but now I can transfer to the aussie server - problem solved

Other than that - other than a few minor bugs - no more than I have seen in wow over my 7 years of playing that, for me the game is great fun still

PVP - well it's not my place to comment as I don't do it - I only focus on the other side of the game - trades, story lines, different classes and factions - all that side of the content

I'm happy for this.

I can only assume you never tried to RvR in Ilum (and probably not taken a world boss with a lot of people either).

I quite simple don't believe anyone has had decent frame rates on Ilum with 20+ vs 20+, ever.

I've never really had FPS issue doing solo quests or 4 man heroics either (well once when an instances started to seem like Ilum for some reason).
