My point is there are many other addons that would make in game life a lot better while still having no impact on others.
so apart from maybe the chat bubbles for RP reason, which add-ons exactly do you need so badly that after 4 months you still haven't accepted that you won't get them?

DPS meter is useful.

Addons that are more like bots = lazy.

If people are afraid of DPS addons thats fine, they can block them. Still no reason to not have any addons at all.
Becuase the community would not stop at what is allowed, it's rather laughable to even say they would.

Yes, we all get it, you like Addons. Not everyone shares you oppinion or experiances with them... In my experiance they have caused large amounts of damage to comunities and strengthened the rift between "hardcore" players and pretty much everyone else. The few addons that may have been usefull are eclipsed by botting programs and raid boss easy buttons.

In the end though I beleive this argument has been had many times and probably will continue on pointlessly, as from what I am told the basic framework for the game was never ment to suport mods.

a calculator is useful. using a calculator for 80*20 = lazy.

healing is not exactly hard to do in this game.

This.

An addon system can be quite powerful. Bioware doesn't want any chance of addons being used for exploitation.

Addons are not capable of botting They can't directly control combat.

While the Addon it's self can not, they can be used to open up the system for Bot programs. Make it harder to detect the source with the other noise. Again, that is what I have been told at least... I know for certain that alot are used for viruses. One of my old friends got his acount hacked becuase of a virus in a mod he got from Curse *shrug*

Addons for MMO's was a terrible idea in the first place, the focus should be on the internal presentation, and general information conveyance, instead of new ways to invite external issues.

who are you raiding/talking to? I always wait for our guardin/tank to go first and then start laying a smackdown.
I think either the guild leader needs to lay some ground rules to your younger members or do a trial run with them before hand.
