I appreciate that you feel as you do, and strongly. I do not, however, agree. I will remain patient and one of two things will happen:

1. It will work out and the game will carry on and I'll have had fun or

2. The game will tank, and I will be wrong and I shall manage to muddle on.

Your insistence that there IS NO TIME is, I think, born of frustration and a passionate desire. I actually admire your dedication. I think I have found the difference between us. You are a strong fan and I am a consumer. I check out what is on offer and if I like it, I pay to play. If I don't, I move on. I admire your tenacity as a fan.

I enjoy the game. I hope the game will grow and thrive and get past the wobbly bits. If it does, hurrah! If it does not, well (pointing to a shelf with numerous other games that are over and done) it will be in good company and I'm sure there will be something else I can play.

You would propably say the same about people who finished same content as you're trying to finish in much shorter time, calling them nolifers, right? Imagine some people read book for a month and the others finishes it up in one evening. Furthermore none of them is missing or skipping anything. It just happen that ones are faster than the others and it barely have to do anything with having no life.

I bought CE, since december I was barely available to play. Now finally I had my free week and if there was no event (with endless grinding of really fat numbers of DNA) I would easily finish my re-rolled Imperial Agent 2-3 days ago from scratch. And I'm not abandoning ANY quest nor spaceskipping it.

The game appears to have started to find its feat.
Introducing legacy, and a more challenging Operation were huge steps for keeping people playing.
There is still a lot of things people are unhappy about, and it all just depeonds on what you prefer.
Some people want a sandbox MMO, and that is something SWTOR does not provide. For some, feeling like they are "on a track" from 1-50 is enough to turn them off of the game.
Many people were disappointed by pvp, and gear models.
It all depends on what you value in a game.

You won't get me off you so easily But I see you've made a valid point atlast. I was seeking an ally in you yet you're just neutral spectator

So. It seems that overal you don't care much

I'm still having a blast.

I don't like to raid, group, or do anything in game that requires excessive amounts of thinking. My job is mentally draining enough, I just want to log on, smash a few buttons on my keyboard, and enjoy the game.

I have almost no complaints, this game has been awesome for me and I'm here for the long haul.

Not like you, no. I have things in life that I am quite passionate about-poverty, education, helping others get a leg-up so they can lead a decent life. Those are what I reserve my real effort and passion for. Not a game. A game to me is a pastime, something to do when I'm wanting a break from RL.

And, for future reference, when seeking an ally, it's best not to harangue them...honey vs. vinegar. Or...gummi bears!

It seems you have very unrealistic expectations of the launch of a new MMO. Not even single player games are able to live up to this anymore because games have become such complex beasts to develop and maintain. Why do you expect this from an MMO of all game types? Especially considering the term 'vanilla' and all it's meanings has been with MMO's for as long as they existed.

Perhaps peoples' standards for TOR were high because BioWare hyped it up for months? For months leading up to release, BioWare and EA kept talking about how TOR was going to be a game changing, genre redefining, title. Then the game launches and we find out that was all a bunch of PR hogwash. Graphically, the game is lackluster while content repetition is made significantly more problematic by the extremely linear nature of the worlds and the fact that decisions are utterly meaningless. By all accounts, compared to other modern MMOs, it's a mediocre title. My expectations of the game were built by the statements made by BioWare and EA during the build up to launch. My expectations were shaped by the belief that BioWare, having years to study the strengths and weaknesses of competition in the MMO market space, would deliver a title that not only offered all of the things MMO gamers have become accustomed to in the genre, circa 2011, but also to expand upon them (Warcraft's "phasing" concept, for example, with a BioWare twist would have made story lines even more epic).

Instead, we got hallway and on-rails gameplay designs with MMO elements from 2006, ultimately forgettable story arcs devoid of any lasting meaning, and poorly balanced PVP and end game PVE that felt tacked on.

Well in my opinion more than legacy stuff and operations werent so great to keep people. Let me finish before you attack me. Legacy stuff is a bigger grindfest than compared to the worst asian MMO out there. It's just pure mindless grind (yet rewards are awesome! Legacy items are just great). Ops... well I won't make my call on that, as flashpoints they are nice for few 1st runs. But what I saw majority people was having great fun lately because of Rakghoul event. Not the dailies itself (btw. they must workout formula since doing same quests every day was pretty... well - do it asap and go make more fun things) - the PvP side of the event. I know that many PvE players were frustrated because to broken flag system - yet it's game design's flaw, not event itself. People were really enjoying that something actualy happened, that they had a reason to leave fleet and seek out for journey. People were chatting and helping each other like never before since December. For the first time it was looking how it should be since the release. Yet those events are based on people - and somewhere are good people and somewhere are bad people (yet good and bad experience of the event). I must say I'm suprised that actualy on most crowded PvP server EU aside from fighting there was mostly high culture and respect so Imps and Reps were doing dailies together peacefully, just to have some fights "vendor is ours" at night time. I don't know how there's so much bloodlust on PvE servers but maybe there's option, since all griefers went PvE maybe some of you dedicated PvE players should visit PvP server?

Ofcourse there were also people who picked PvP server and then cried about getting killed (on PvP server? how could that happen? :O) but it's compareable to forum's whinners "dis game is da ***** i go outa hier".

I played on my 50 over the weekend in pvp. I had alot of fun. Pve gear was never intended to substitute pvp gear. It was an oversight like the devs said. I had a ton of fun over the weekend on my 50. I think they managed to balance the classes to an extent, imperial agent is still op as hell, but whatever. Character transfers are in the near future. The class storylines were developed to give a background to the class instead of handing you a character and being like wow "Your a death knight" go play and kill 10 of xyz and then 15 of zyx. What people don't seem to get if theres content to this running and its ALOT different then scrolling text. This is not a first person shooter. You may have to kill things to advance your storyline, but really is there any better way to bring about a genre which entails so much fighting. Granted there aren't any peaceful solutions to a questline, You Are Here ->> Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. Granted they didn't have everything implemented at launch I think they are doing a great job irregardless of the stupidity spewed on this forum where a game needs to be absolutely flawless at launch because of the misconception developed from the long success of wow. My suggestion is to those players. Please go back to wow or wherever you came from and leave the forums alone and don't waste the time of those who play love and or have a mutual relationship with this game. It is the only DECENT Star Wars mmo out there and I would prefer this to being a panda. Last but not least. The servers are not dieing, they are seeing less traffic at peak times due to the focus on endgame content rather then leveling.
