I'm getting the sound glitch, too. Sounds cut out randomly, then refuse to come back for the rest of my session. It's wierd, I log in and I generally have no problems, but after w bit, the sounds (mainly SFX and mundane things like walking sounds, but sometimes voices and music also are cut out) start randomly going out.

ffs.. patch tonight and zero notes one what it's going to include.

Nothing in the devtracker forum about it, no acknowledgement of all the sound issues, pleas for a sticky on this subject to keep folks from going in circles on this here being ignored, no feedback with specific updates.

Nice community and customer service this is. Let's just keep everyone in the dark and let them starve for information.

Update to this:
I found this only happens after killing tauntaun on Hoth. The sound bug is accompanied by two visual bugs of Telekinetic Throw (sage ability). The rocks continue to be thrown from your cast location to your target's location.

Sound Bug: sounds like a continuous loop of the telekinetic throw sound
Visual Bugs:
  1. Visual Bug #1 - Where you are standing on Hoth, casting Telekinetic Throw appears to cast but does no damage to Tauntaun. This visual bug resets upon game relog/exit.
  2. Visual Bug #2 - While on Hoth attacking Tauntaun, your hand appears to be continuously casting Telekinetic Throw (example screenshot below). This visual bug resets upon game relog/exit.

Hello i also lost have had sound issues after patching to 1.2

1. Repair function did not repair the issue

after speaking whit a guild mate that had similar issues and thanks to him my sounds work now

the issue is in your accountname_account. ini
after the patch your ini. file prolly only has 2 sound lines like

VolumeMaster = 80
VolumeAmbience = 80

a quick fix for sound should be

go to windows search
type in your

accountname_account.ini ( insertyour account name here_account.ini)

open up whit notepad

and look that the folllowing lines are there

VolumeMaster = 80
VolumeMusic = 80
VolumeSFX = 80
VolumeAmbience = 80
VolumeVoiceover = 80

if not well ou can either fix it yourself or wait for a patch i guess

Seriously, Bioware, is really annoying. i dont know anyone in my entire guild hot having this issue. I stopped leveling an alt due missing sounds etc cos this and restarting the client when the sound is getting terrible is not an option but you fixing this asap.

Anyone tried this out? Have to wait for the servers to come back up for now in order to check.

Servers are back up (mine is anyway) - they still say unavailable on the launcher but could login.

Adjusting all audio sliders in preferences to 80 does the same thing.

By default only two entries are in the account ini, but changing (SFX for example) to 80 will add it for you.
Can hard code it as well, just easier to do with the sliders.

And no, it didn't help my issues in particular.
Which sound issues was this addressing?

And a big /facepalm on the patch notes in regards to sound.

For me it fixed the sound loss of the questgivers , no speech , ambient voice filling the game and loosing sound after an hour or so only having ambient sounds or loosing sound effects after warzones, somehow 1.2 broke the ini file.
and did not know about the sliders , so thanks for the tip will remember that next time

According to the patch notes they fixed the space combat sound issues and a load noise on the fleet, but wasn't that fixed in the last patch?

No; they fixed an issue in the last patch that had to do with the bounty hunter emote causing a loud noise. I've heard both noises; this one was different.
