I don't ever remember getting things handed to me in WoW, I just remember it being a lot more accessible then this game.
I've tried WoW (the *omg want things now community made me not go play*) and I've seen this site http://www.curse.com/addons/wow.
Loads of easy mode add-ons there.

If people are afraid of DPS addons thats fine, they can block them. Still no reason to not have any addons at all.
WHAAAA oh no dps addons run away!

really, you think people are 'afraid' of dps add-ons?

geez. I thought 4 months in people would have realised that this game is already easy enough to see if you have threat, easy enough to find your best rotation.

go online. use the forums. talk about it. don't be a lazy bean

I'm not sure what your idea of easy mode is so I can't really argue with you.

Maybe you could give some examples?

Well people are clearly afraid of DPS addons because they always use them as the example of why not to have addons.

My point is there are many other addons that would make in game life a lot better while still having no impact on others.

I don't want addons. They become over-encumbering and downright annoying. I'm happy now with the GIU editor, so that I can make the UI not giant. The only other thing I'd want to see is a small notice on my screen when and Skill buff pops, so I don't have to be constantly watching my buff bar. Other than that, I'm good

UI customizations is fine. I would like to be able to make it where debuffs where bigger for instance. What I don't want to see is all the third party addons that WoW ended up having. Which gave players an advantage, which the game designers then had to make raids harder to compensate for the addons. And the addons broke every time they patched the game. And the adddons could, and did for me, cause file errors that messed up things like keybind settings.

So yes to UI customization within the framework of the UI that we have now. No to highly modded/programming keybinds, outside of simple message keybinds.

Then don't use them, no reason for them to not be in the game at all.

Is this like the elitism you face when you show up at your softball game wearing a suit and dress shoes and your "elitist" team doesn't want to let you play because you are not properly equipped and would be a liability to them?

If you want a casual and non-competitive environment you need to find a group of like minded individuals who don't care about personal performance

However, If you want to play with a competitive group who actually cares about performance you'd better be prepared to utilize all the tools available to help AND your team win.

I do realize the average player actually knows very little about playing their class to its best performance and that's fine. I do not understand why they would not want the tools to be better however.
