Hope to god they don't allow add-ons even with the combat log parser we got now, the dps are all flexing there Epeens and pulling agro off tanks at the start of boss fights in operations.
So much so the raid leaders are banning use of parsers now.

That's a player issue, not a addon issue.

Understood, in a perfect world add-ons are a great tool to help players out in game but this is the Internets.

The game does not need addons, so I doubt we will ever see them.

Some players are addicted to addons like junkies, but that does not mean SWTOR needs addons. If you want addon based play, go play WoW IMO.

Heh, different MMO, same bad behaviors.

IMO, if a DPS player pulls agro from a tank.....let them die.... AND let them eat sand until the fight is over. And don't let them roll on lootz. A couple of dirt naps and no lootz and they will tone it down.

There is an old saying...

If the Tank Dies, it is the Healers fault....

If the Healer Dies, it is the Tanks fault...

If the DPS Dies, it is their own DA*N fault...
The Details, it is all about the Details

What I find amusing about anti-addon people is their complete and total lack of understanding on the subject.

You do realize the game has 100% complete control over what addons to allow and which to stop?

Its pretty clear the Devs at this point don't want to allow DPS addons where we can see everyone's performance. Guess what, if they allowed addons they could still disallow DPS addons.

There are so many other uses for them that have zero impact on the game play of others.

GTN, Crafting, Threat Meters, UI Interface, and so on.

Don't come on here and oppose something you don't even understand.

I think most of us know and understand add-ons all too well. That said, you are right about which addons can be allowed. Look at LotRO, it has addons available, but they're all for the most part cosmetic skins for your UI and .abc files for music.

But when the majority of players play DPS and then they have a DPS meter, a lot tend to play like they need to get the highest score on the board. It's not space invader's people.

I hope they never come, because wow, you can't even get into a raid group without having certain mods installed, i would prefer to avoid this elitism from starting.
