Misinterpret? You said "almost any standard status server....", what the hell is there to misinterpret? I would love to also know where you got your "Standard Status is 350", as far as I am aware BioWare has never released numbers.

From a gold post, go back to last incarnation of the thread if you want the link, 350 is the minimum for a standard server, anything below that is light.

It's mending a hole in the side of our TORtanic (seriously I like this name, don't use it to piss anyone off, besides Titanic was greatest and most advanced ship ever created, right? ) so we don't get even more water and we can still keep ourselves above the sea. Got my analogy? Now. Look at our active playerbase (please, mention subs proven by BW and I will just start shotin' laz0r with my eyes xD) - it's shattered. You're perfectly right that things like this (losing active players) is happening after release in every MMO - no doubts with it. But - yes, there's allways a "but" - this usually isn't happening on such great scale. At worst servers from super heavy should change to heavy/normals in peak hours. This means there's a HUGE drop in active players in this moment in time. Also you (or not you, sorry, I don't remember who wrote what actualy) are reffering to WoW have lots of "light" servers - yet that "light" servers are way more crowded than your heavy. And our "light" are just like point 0 in Chernobyl. I will state in advance, please don't mention how many subs have WoW because it doesn't really matter - the same thing is with Aion or Lineage who had way less subs BEFORE they went F2P. I'm just saying that light servers here are just unplayable in terms of MMO genre. I'm also not saying that low number of active players in general packed on 3 servers instead of 20 is bad. No, it's good that there will be 3 crowded servers so those people can actually enjoy their stay. But personally I doubt that 3 crowded servers (yes I took this number out of my cup of tea, but if you ask me I think there will be 2-3 crowded PVP servers and atleast 1 or 2 PVE servers) will generate enough cash to make BW able to rapidly (this is crucial in MMO market these days, rapidly - if you don't want to sink ofcourse. Rift makers acknowledged this since beggining, that's why their WoW clone still have lots of active players - new stuff is just dripping out from the screen) add new stuff.
Pure speculation. And speculating is fine, just stop trying to present it as some kind of fact. Fact can only be determined by hindsight or empirical data.

Your doomsaying posts are almost word-for-word EXACTLY what I saw a year ago on the RIFT forums. Servers were dead after the launch rush due to the decrease of concurrent playtimes, people were crying that the sky was falling, the game was dying, Trion sucks and people are leaving. On June 22nd, Trion opened up the free server transfer option.

Again, people just like you were stipulating that it's only a "temporary" solution. Yet, here we are almost a year later, and subs are just fine, people are finding groups, and the sky stood fixedly in the air.

Go look up reading comprehension.

Re-read my post and think again, dear lord.

Yeah, but, don't you see? If BioWare said it, it's obviously a lie...

For a game which only supports small groups, how large do you think that the server population needs to be per faction for zero/minimum downtime for its players?
50 Sorc Healer/DPS
- We Brake For Nobody - (RIP)
Empire US-West PvE soon-to-be defunct raiding guild
(5/5 Eternity Vault HM, 5/5 Karagga's Palace HM)

350 overall on whole server, not one side. Now imagine if there's 350 on all server and basicaly there's 1:4 ratio Rep vs Imp how much pleasure it is to play as Rep. I mean really. Did you tried it by yourself? I asure you it's a great... single player game

Regardless if indeed 350 is what makes a server standard, in my opinion this number is way too low. Broken evenly between imp and pubs that gives around 175-200 players per side of which say half are level 50 and the rest are alts or other levels that is still not enough IMO for a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER- orpg

On my server (Krath) pub side the numbers aren't even that. I can't recall GS being over around 60 people, I'm sure it has been but not when I have checked. Some servers are wastelands. This is a combination of several issues, the least of which is that the servers/game aren't/isn't designed to handle large populations.

Despite what the drones would have you believe - most standard servers are in fact ghost towns.

Therefore unless you're playing on, say The Fatman - then it's not looking good . For anyone. At all.
