i wouldnt say no to more mobility, but its not necessary. merc has a role in the team dynamic of PvP in this game, and if the merc knows what theyre doing they will succeed and assist the group in succeeding.
You've just lost any and all credibility.
If you are stupid enough to stand still (while playing a Merc BH) while my mara is up in your face, you're dead. Plain and simple.
Telling me 'not' to back pedal and gain range, on a toon who's ONLY advantage is ranged.... ?? Seriously?

I'm talking pyro merc if you can read. If your playstyle matches your reading comprehension then you really don't have much hope.

As for the huttball reference I was stating on the stance of the very beginning of the match. If you go down in the bottom near the ball right from the get go as everyone scrambles for the ball you will get what you deserve. As opposed to starting off at one of the scaffolding or the side. Meaning you have to position yourself to where it gives you an advantage. Move with the fight, but keeping in mind whats going on around you. Meaning...keep with the fight but away from melee. It's not that hard to understand.

Sadly the average poster on these forums can make Forrest Gump look like Stephen Hawking.
Um you must be terrible at huttball. Two ways you win. Get the ball control mid. You let the opposing team get the ball you lost #1 not only that standing on scaffolding is a cardinal sin in huttball since glowsticks can jump right to you then force push you away. Terrible terrible advice.

I just read a couple pages of this thread... SO MUCH STUPIDITY.

From my own experience, pyro and bodyguard mercs do just fine since 1.2.

Arsenal is still more or less arsenal. You need one of the following to do well with it: (1) really bad enemy players that allow you to freecast without interrupting or LoSing; or, (2) really good teammates to help you position the enemy players out in the open where you can dps them down.

You have a valid point to not stand ONLY on scaffolding. But I never said to only stay up there. I was merely using it as an example. It can be a good spot to pop a few casts off before attention is drawn to you then move. If you are just standing up there and they have the ball that's bad news. Plus with the animation change between tracer/fusion missle you draw even less attention to yourself no matter where you position yourself.

My point was don't run in the middle of 2 assassins and a jugg and try to cast and then cry about how bad the class is. I'm not saying you are doing so...just saying have situational awareness enough to know where to move and when to move. As with any ranged class.

Either you are being ignorant and looking to just troll or this class really is too complex for you.

I don't need to 'run into the middle of 2 assassins and a jug'. They will leap to me or pull me to them. Then I will die as i slowly walk around perma-snared, with any feeble attempt on my part to do any offence being interrupted.

That isn't much of a bounty hunter problem really since the only class that can counter that w/o their resolve bar being white is a sniper/gunslinger while in cover/entrench. It sucks for all the other classes. All you can do is either ride that out or stun/knockback and run to a group of friends. Either way we all feel your pain there.

I absolutely hate it when I get a jugg jumping then knocking me back then jumping again. Especially if they are spec'd for the CC immunity after they hop on you.

Marauders? Knock em away or stun em and run to a group of friendlies. if there aren't any around, hopefully LOS them to where they cant hop on you again and hopefully they target someone else.

I find it pretty hard to follow this thread correctly, He is talking about level 50 right? If so i dont get how he could claim that 300k was the cap pre1.2. As my pre1.2 my level sub level 20 arsenal merc was almost able to get 300k(280k is my record in HUTTBALL pre1.2) without the access of tracer missles or other high level talents. And i know people at level 50 hit much harder due to gear and talents. So what is the deal, i know someone decredited the other low level BH cause he was a pyro one and people dont cleanse. But that doesnt apply to me as there is nothing to cleanse.

And post 1.2 im still pretty much doing the same damage as tracer missles hits for what my old power shot did pre1.2, So if a level 50 cant do what im doing now there is something wrong and im not sitting at 0 objective points either.
