They will only gently touch on that issue with no time frames, and no real information. That is enough to make the SWTOR apologists happy, but it means nothing.

Transfers you say?!?! Oh, you mean something that was needed in early JAN? "They may come out before you die" BW says.

Merges?! What?!?! You mean to cut down on the 89 million servers, with almost all of them running light or standard 24/7? Screw that! We want people to never be able to assemble a Hard Mode group, and 16 man ops?! GOOD LUCK WITH THAT BRO!! HAHAH!!!! WOOOOO!!!! How are you going to do that when there aren't even 16 people on your fleet!? - Says BW

This is another in the long line of completely stupid and irrelevant Q & A's brought to you by loservile.

Hot Mess is the world for this. This is what happens when your .dev team is hired off of craigslist and relocated from their mothers basement with their fresh ITT degree in hand.

As a Systems Admin / Small Business Consultant in real life, if I gave my work or my clients any of the vague answers (followed up by delays) or just casually ignoring complaints, I would be FIRED. Not in SWTOR land though, because they know that people like myself have a lot of hope that things COULD be fixed in any sort of reasonable time frame.

Every day the clock ticks, and I don't know how many more days of this lack of honest and candid communication I'm going to be put up with. I quit BF3 for the same reason, DICE obviously did not care about its PC player base.

Scorpio is one of the easiest to gear companions in the game. All her default armor has mod slots for you to replace, and the few pieces she has missing are easily obtainable by anyone.

It's not doing you any good to say these things to me. I am just pointing out what Bioware has asked you to do. Go read the second paragraph here.

They also asked that you read the previous Q&As before posting the same questions over and over. They ask that you only post one question each. They ask that you use common sense about your questions. Most people who are posting questions are not following these simple guidelines.

I am just recommending a little better common sense on your parts. If you don't like the questions answered this week then come up with a good one for next week. If your previous questions didn't get answered, there is probably a reason it was passed up. Either they cannot answer it for some reason, it has already been answered or it just wasn't a very good question to begin with.

Grandmthethird: It seems to me like some companions have a hard time when it comes to gear. I’m sure there is more but I’m thinking specifically of Torian and Skadge. It seems impossible to get aim melee weapons. Is this an oversight? Or am I simply missing something?

David White (Systems Designer): Aim melee weapons are used by a very small subset of companions. For this reason we tend to distribute those items through either vendors or class specific quest rewards. Our goal is to make these items reasonably available without constantly putting essentially “worthless” items in front of players who do not care about them. We also make the items customizable (orange) when possible to make it easier to keep them up-to-date by swapping out the Mods and Enhancements. Ultimately it’s a delicate balance to make sure they can be reasonably found and maintained by the players who care about them without them becoming a nuisance to players who might not even understand why they exist.
This answer is somewhat not satisfying as it doesn't explain why decisions where made to implement the Techblade and the Techstaff in the first place - as they are the only weapons not used by any player class.

Certain things I can assume to understand. For example all Trooper companions have Aim as their main stat, even the healer was changed to aim whereas all other healing companions use cunning. My guess would be to make sure they all utilize the same gear and thus look like Troopers as well.

We are looking at only four companions distributed over three classes, two for the Bounty Hunter and one each for the Smuggler and Consular.

So the question for me still is, why Techblades/-staffs and not Vibroswords/Electrostaffs for example? If this is for the same reason as with the trooper healer it should have been easier to do the same here instead of making a whole new weapon set.

i thanked them for answering my question. but your right there is still a bit of a mystery. one thing that caught my attention, was that we can keep up to date with swapping mods. but as far as i know there is no aim hilt

It would be nice for you to deal with real issues like PvP and class balance questions. It seems that you are only interested in answering fluff questions.

Yes this is just silly. The first companion I get Qyzen Fess has the most impossible weapon to upgrade in the game.
Unless you are on a server that has any market with weapons on it. (mine has none most of the time)
So my Qyzen is stuck with a level 48 crap weapon or at best a sub par compared to any other companion.
Example is my Corso Riggs has a Battle master Weapon, but Qyzen Fess for my Consular is stuck with a blue 48?
How could this even be considered equal or fair to the Consular?

The Techblades do use barrels - so we're good there

It seems to me that there were more ideas but it got cut back.

You can do the heroic daily "Open Communications" on Belsavis and get him a nice blade:
http://www.torhead.com/index.php/mis...tions#comments

Hope that helps. Still more cumbersome in the leveling phase. They did add schematics for the armstech - I believe the weapons start at lvl 20 from what I've seen.

Still doesn't answer the design choice - and I often have green or blue weapon drops for my other companions that I swap if it's better then the customizable one - which will not happen as often with those weapons as they keep them more rare for the reason given.
