I find playing the game is much better than parroting Taugrim.

1v1 - someone dies about the same, maybe slightly quicker...maybe.

This is my experience, as a solo-queue, where I cannot rely on heals. I really don't know what some of you are talking about, because 3-on-1 = target dies pretty fast, and it has been this way since I have been in PvP.

Maybe the influx of new/fresh 50's who have no gear getting slammed is skewing your perceptions a bit.

Actually Taugrim was not the one to come up with TTK, he just spread the word.
Also, what class are you? I find the 1vN lines complete lies and trolls.

I am a shield speced vanguard and I can tell you that now that means squat. I used to shield my healers in warzone, now I do not do that because there is no reason. One lone marauder does a lot of damage to my guarder healer and me without breaking a sweat, that is not right.
You should ask your fellow friends how hard is it to guard someone these days and you'll get a very simple answer: guard? who does that anymore? I chose a tank class for the support part not for the big numbers, I leave those to kids; and now I cannot do the role that I speced into. No problem, soon I'll have a complete combat tech set and go tactics and also healers should go dps and then see the outrage that there are no healers in the game.
The current state of the PvP fights is a joke, it resembles the games in WoW arenas or BGs where a rogue can (or could ... I left WoW 2 years ago and lost track) burst you down if you have your trinket on CD.

The pvp in the game was advertised as medium paced and not a 5sec fight; granted that almost no class can kill you in 5 sec (maybe 8sec) but the outcome is decided in those 5 sec by the burst capabilities of your opponent and we all know that burst is not equal for all classes.

As someone who really liked the slower TTK in PvP pre-1.2, I'm disappointed to read that it seems they are going to maintain a faster TTK. Acknowledging that DPS classes are currently overpowered in PvP is a start but I'm afraid the thing that drew me to PvP in SWTOR (longer fights) is gone for good. I PvPed as a healer in full BM for a couple days after 1.2 released but have given up on it completely until something changes.

As a subscriber to ToR who plays only PvP, I can only echo what everyone has been saying about PvP in patch 1.2: it just isn't as fun anymore. The game is all about DPS now. I play as a tank, andI notice fewer and fewer people in WZs actually doing any type of protection - guarding or taunting. Plain and simple TTK is too fast. Furthermore, you have created "heroic" DPS classes now with tank-specced assassins who have too much DPS, and marauders who have crazy DPS and damage reduction. Your 8-man teams for ranked WZs are going to have 4 marauders, 2 tankassins, and 2 sorcerers with one sorcerer casting heals just as a distraction for the opposing team.

To your credit, the PvP in the 10-49 bracket was great. I wish end-game PvP was done in a similar fashion.

In conclusion, you need to listen to your players (subscribers) (customers). If your game isn't fun to play, then we will do something else.

I didn't say he was the originator of the term, I said that because he put it in his blog, many people are parroting it, and because Taugrim said so, it must be true.

Juggernaut - Vengeance, if it matters, but sometimes Immortal as well, same gear.

I don't lie. What I said has been my experience as a solo-queue PvP'er...which I also said in that post.

gwX i agree. Basically we now have "Please leave your skills at the door in favor if burst dmg and dmg reduction, oh and the mediocre heal boost. all known as expertise "

Long story short Expertise should be static for all PVP gear(IE the same on recruit as it is on WH), VALOR rank should do something THAT IS SKILL based USEFUL, increased value of non dmg bonus secondary stats, or a Temp Heal ie act like a delayed dmg reduction cd(take dmg shrug it off then have it come back to you at end of CD). These are just ideas. Basically the other stats: def sheild absorb accuracy power etc should be how players tweak their gear JUST LIKE PVE.

If players TTK is too quick then the solution is to increase EXPERTISE on all armor(again maintaining same amount across all gears) TO SLOW THE FIGHTS DOWN. This would give skill and proper play a chance in the game rather then press these 4 buttons in order on the squishiest target while having expertise over 90 0 and you can kill someone easily.

I remember in Beta we expressed a massive dislike of the expertise stat, it inclusion in the game and the fact that PVP was going to be based on who was wearing more the pvp stat it was true pre 1.2 it's even more true post 1.2 which GZ's post absolutely confirms.

I quit wow pvp 1/2 way through BC because it was all about LOS and Resilience stacking, and who could burst whose healer down before heals could land and well that has been recreated perfectly with the current expertise system.

anyways that is my 2cp.

The gear gap was increased, not decreased. Yes the initial expertise values are closer... but you're looking at 250-300 less endurance, same for main stat, and a couple hundred less secondary stats as well as poorer distribution of those secondary stats. Recruit gear vs post-patch BM is a bad joke. Cent Vs Pre-patch BM was at least a fighting chance, and champ vs Pre-patch BM was almost totally even.

Figured I'd give my feelings on this as well. I used to pass the time PvPing before 1.2, I have 2 War Heros, both were in full BM gear before 1.2.

Before 1.2, I don't believe that I ever missed completing the 3 win daily of either of my toons. Now, I don't even feel like participating anymore, I have finished the daily once with my Jedi Guardian, and 3 times on my Trooper. It just isn't fun for me anymore, used to be most of the time, the frustration used to be about the stun and root fest, and about a couple of classes being a little OP. Bad thing is that there aren't enough other things to keep me around in game, so once my time is up, if PvP is what it is now, I doubt I will find other things to keep me interested.

all they need to do is:

pm-vs-pm / pug-vs-pug.
and item-level filter for matching equaly geared ppl together.

u will see that if they do that, much of the QQing will stop.

and some more wz maps wouldnt hurt. i want more huttball maps personally ^_^
