Server population is dropping...

Server: The Ravager is pretty much dead. Takes 2-3 hours per day to get in story operations. Really hard to find healer/tank for the last spot in 4m. At evening, the fleet hardly goes over 100 players and in most planets there are less 5 players leveling (mostly alone).

Server merge or transfer needed.

We understand you and others are unhappy, but the majority of players seem happy, judging by the increase in activity (and remember that the majority of players do not partake on the forums).

So let me get this right? Your hypothesis is that because of massive rage over 1.2, BioWare gave the players 30 days of free play as sort of a bribe to keep them from leaving?

I don't think you understand what kind of gamers represent the overwhelming majority of the 1.7 million subscription base. But rather than speculate, we will hopefully have updated subscription numbers announced in the Q4 2012 earnings call and then we will know for sure (unless you belong to the group of players who claim EA is lying in its earnings reports).

The increase in activity is mainly due to 1.2. There is no other correlation as to point otherwise. Furthermore, this activity will not lessen due to the breathing room of 30 odd days that B.W. has given itself to pick up the ball that they have failed to catch. Why? Because its a smart move, its a known fact that a consumer loves whatever appears to be free.

It's a great strategic choice for the company to undertake. Give the players 30 days, we have 30 days breathing room, additionally some of the rage will subside and people wont quit especially if you take in human psychology into account.

Oh, as for the EA subscription numbers, honestly, I have no idea how that works, but I do know that you cant fudge quarterly's ... well not much anyway (ahh the beauty of corporate accounting) but, I do know that if it's cheaper for an corporation to throw a bone to their consumers and only 1/4 of the consumers move on to a different profit earning product it wont look as bad as 1/2 or 2/3ds stop using it.

Especially with subscriptions and how a success/failure within the industry is calculated of an MMO. I mean, honestly, who wouldn't use the 30 days freebee? And, they know it, and it's going to look very well on paper!

All I am saying is, they need to pick up the ball and wake up. Consumer's these days are not just mindless drones, but feel free to come up with an argument to refute me on this, and demand a good product at fair prices. This game, as it stands, is not a good product for an MMO.

Single player, its Triple A plus plus plus! and I would not hesitate buying it for a moment but that's as far as that goes.

Over 100 on the fleet, and you consider your server dead?? Please. While I would never deny that the population on some servers is a significant issue that needs to be addressed soon, I don't think you're suffering nearly as much as some of us.

I solo on Anturi Reach. I made a post in one of the other threads detailing it more, so I'm going to keep it brief.

On Anturi Reach, I have never once seen 100 online, at any point of day, weekends or not, much less in any one zone. During peak periods, you'd be happy to see around 20-25 level 50s, and I've never seen the population at the fleet reach 30.

I refuse to PvP, because all I've heard from guildmates is waiting upwards of 3 hours for a game, and it's almost exclusively Empire-vs-Empire.

I've only ever seen one Republic player- A level 41 sage, doing missions in the southern regions on Hoth, and that was a week ago. I remember, because it was actually memorable.

I could go on and on, but I won't.

I'm not a fanboi but I do love the game. However, I can play for 3 hours and not see another player on the average planet. 100 in fleet? That would be amazing!

Playing pvp after pvp match trying to get 50 valor before I hit 50 and I keep getting stuck with 4 vs 8 games. No valor for me. Kinda sucks the fun out of things.

I want to keep playing and I love this game, but a server merger is a must at this point. Please listen developers!

I am on a server that also has a Fleet pop of ~100. But dont let that number fool you, its impossible to find anyone to do quests unless its a HM, and even those sometimes takes hours to get going. Maybe 2/3 of the pop is lvl 50 at any given time, and more than half of those guys just pvp. And each planet has maybe 10 people. So even though fleet has 100, most of the planets are completely dead and you will almost never see another person. The vast majority of the server just sits around on fleet most of the time.

The end result, even 100 ppl on fleet feels kind of dead, and nothing like an mmo. The Rakghoul event did bring some people out of their corners, but this is also a temporary event. So they are likely to just go right back.

Dude, they have said multiple times they are working on a server transfer process. To apply your own phrase here.....Why can't you get that?????

Then of course, all the servers are not dead either, more like about 20% of them. So perhaps you are just running hyperbole full throttle perhaps.

So guys... I just got off playing the TERA OB (quite fun, might pick it up and play alongside TOR) and there are already people complaining about how their server is dead, and how transfers and merges are needed.

Yup...

Are you seriously trying to compare an open beta server population issue to TOR?
Meanwhile, in Tera general chat -

"The sad thing is, arguing with fanbois on the forums was more entertaining than their 300 million dollar single player MMO from 2008"
