Did wow really launch an anti swtor internet campaign? If you have watched the facebook page ie the likes and how many people are talking about it and in addition to that the server populations have increased since 1.2 and in yet there are 21 articles I found talking negatively about swtor and insisting that there is a population decline. It has been quite the contrary though. The problem that everyone doesn't see is the population caps for the servers were increased for launch and than never reduced back to normal (at least to my knowledge). So while it seems some servers lack in population this is false. The speculation of these articles based on 1 analyst (also based on my knowledge of the situation). From what I have seen they reference 1 analyst who out of all these articles and he is referenced each time. I guess my point is the dieing server conclusion is false and while there are servers that are lacking it does not mean they are dead. The problem is there is no group finding system in place and everything for pve seems to have to be organized by guilds and or rl friends, acquaintances, etc and this leaves some of the server population out of the loop especially on lacking servers. This is why people have been rerolling to other servers (in my opinion). I have been here since alpha and I don't intend on leaving. This game is the future of gaming and mmos and while it is still in infant stage it still has time to grow and compete with wow and the other popular mmos out there. My two cents. My opinion is the anti swtor campaign launched by wow is pathetic if it is indeed true. So am I right or am I wrong?

Declining subs is a hate campaign? Subs will decline. Subs will also grow.... then decline, then grow, then decline. That is how MMOs go. When stuff is new, subs are up. In between new content, subs decline.

It does not take an analyst to see that.

I have heard of none of them, soooooooo a bunch of ppl's assumptions = don't give a frack... but thanks for the waste of time

Also never heard of Cowen And Company, since all the articles which none are mainstream are ref to, not to mention they get there info from Torstatus which does not track subs but in and out's of servers, great thread champ...

Also, links to 4 articles who are all reporting the same analyst's report is not a flurry of bad news.

not that i care anyway,if blizzard launches an anti wow campaign because there losing subs to it.just goes to show that the people who make world of warcraft arent really any more mature then its playerbase in my eyes
Why would these gaming websites suddenly start trash talking swtor on their own account? The fact that its all from 1 analyst makes me think its a way in which to discourage new players to go into swtor.

All of these are reporting the same thing: "analyst" Doug Creutz' prediction that subscriptions will decline to 1.25 million by March of 2013. This is an analysis he arrived by data "gleaned" from torstatus.net, which doesn't even report subscription counts.

So the answer to your question is "because in the age of the internet, anybody can create a gaming news site".
