This is the way launch is supposed to go people and it sure beats sitting here without even being able to log in. Atleast you have an ETA.
as far as i know, ive never taken a 2 hour shower.

I can't believe some people think that not wanting to wait 3+ hours is reasonable??? Man, I wish I had no job/responsibilities/friends/family/life where just waiting around for 3 hours to play a game is reasonable.

Oh and as for the people saying "just go on another server"...uh, some of us have already made a character, AND been playing with their guild on said server. You know, the guild that they let us set up MONTHS ago, where maybe well before launched you talked with the people anyways and wanted to play with them. Seriously people, this is INEXCUSABLE.

my last 2 mmo launches had queue times sometimes up to even 30 minutes. but 4 *********** hours is completely unaccepable. its down right negligent on biowares part

It's after midnight in December...going outside and enjoying the day is death...

ALL US PVP servers are full with queue...

I just had the wonderful pleasure of starting at 1400, making my way to 77, and then having my DirectX crash my computer...now @970. GG.

What is worse, is people are macroing their characters so they never leave game. Making their character jump every 10 seconds and going to take a break and come back and resume play. Obviously that makes the queue worse, but its getting them results because they aren't waiting in it...

I've already seen jumping characters in weird spots around the planet, people are avoiding these queue's any way they can.

I work full time and I'm also going to school. I just got home from a 10 hour shift and the first thing I wanted to do was play SWTOR and now I have to wait 2 hours to do that. But I have an understanding for what they are going through, and I'm not going to complain. If I wanted to play right now I could but it just wouldn't be on the server of my choosing.
Well, you got part of it right, you don't just put up a bunch of servers and call it a day. However, Bioware knew how many pre-orders there were, they allowed a certain number of people in, knowing these numbers, and using the information from the Betas that they ran, the should have been better able to estimate how many people could be hosted on each server. I run a datacenter with many hundreds of servers in it, with many many appliications, and yes, that is exactly how it is done.

As for not complaining, I absolutely am going to complain, I bought a game and I want to play it, when I want to play it, and where I want to play it. As for playing on a different server, that is NOT currently an option. They are ALL full. Or at least the list I can see on my screen without hitting 'cancel' in order to scroll the window.

I have purchased the game, and will do my best to play until the end of the month when my subscription is supposed to renew, but if the queue issue is not resolved by then, BioWare will have lost a customer, probably more than one.

Considering this is the launch of a major mmo, I think 3 hours is very reasonable. Ive been to bad launches where you wait over 3 hours to log in then get kicked right back out because its an unstable mess. Atleast once you're in everything is for the most part smooth. If it wasnt for those stupid stagged invites this would have been an A+ launch especially for a game of this size.

Yes, I work as a sys admin for a hosting company and that is true for the most cast. Most companies I've dealt with use the default message 'Our technicians are working on getting the servers back online. We are sorry for the inconvenience.' My only point is if this continues for an extended period of time then that would be different. But this is the first week, and this is to be expected. I'd rather them be working on the issue than sitting here telling us that they are going to be working on the issue. If this continues lets say 2-4 weeks after the launch on the 20th then we should make an official complaint but not this early.
