Some follow up news from observations of play and feedback over the weekend. In the next couple of days we will be deploying a small patch that will address the following issues:
  • As discussed, minimum medals to gain rewards will go from 3 to 1 to better reward those who are backfilled.
  • Warzones will once again be shutting down when population imbalance is detected. This was an unfortunate bug where a feature of Ranked Warzones (in full team play it is not desirable to let one team end the game prematurely by quitting out) was incorrectly implemented globally.
  • Completion of Warzones will gain a large increase in the percentage of rewards it represents, so while scoring is still the primary driver, you will cease to see games that give no rewards if players have a minimum of 1 medal earned.
  • We are extending the time we wait for a full team of eight to better make sure Warzones pop with complete teams.

A huge thank you to everyone who played this weekend and provided valuable feedback and analysis.
I like what I'm hearing but I don't see anything that addresses the fact that gameplay has been turned into pew pew pew gibfest that grows stale quickly. I don't know if its because of healer nerf or expertise cap or what but it is no longer one of the better pvp styles I've seen in an mmo (I'm an Agent who did relatively nice in the deal but quickly saw how I couldn't be bothered for long continually squashing nerfed classes or attempting to gear up an alt with this new mess). Not sure it is enough to win me back though, you made me start researching other games... and some of them look damn good.

Expertise removal wouldn't fit into the stated goal of keeping PVE and PVP gear separate. A more equitable approach to keep the closed loop may be to make expertise the same on all tiers of PVP gear.

Let's not open up the can of worms with "why can't I use PVE gear for PVP", eh?

Edit to add: increasing TTK - good.

You know what this means? Instead of 0 rewards for losing, you'll get 5.

This is how I see the developers approach

take away 90% of the rewards, give back 10% resulting in a net loss of 80% reward and expect the playerbase to be happy about it. Couple more months and they may even give back another 10% because they listen to feedback which is why the problems on test were addressed long before they went live.......

I have PVP'd twice since patch 1.2 and both times a played for over 10 minutes and received nothing even though in one of those I had 17 kills. I am new to the game and when I asked why I get nothing the response from the loads of mature players on my server is that I suck. Well as far as I can tell there is no incentive to learn to get good at PVP since I have to spend hours practicing while getting no returns. I get more returns at level 37 doing level 10 missions. At least I get 5xp and some credits for those. I used to enjoy PVP and now I don't. It feels like a morbid waste of time and the way it is set up it will only attract players who are already highly skilled not those looking to learn.

I play on Ajunta Pall, balanced server, queue pops <5 mins during prime time that I've got no time to properly quest.

Rated Warzones will put in a deserter debuff and if you want to leave, go ahead.

Most people don't leave on either side on AP.

I won a lot and lost a lot this past weekend.

Still got plenty of comms, xp, credits for losing. Not As much as pre-1.2 but I don't PvP warzones for these (maybe just creds so I can craft).

If you are on a crappy server, get off your crappy server and reroll until transfers come in.
Well said. Picked up our guild and went to jung ma, best move.

Sadly this is what will happen. Then they will be scratching there heads wondering why there are less people playing WZ's

Post 1.2 very few people left because you would be rewarded to stay and fight. Sure you got less then the winners but who cares everyone is having fun the lossers got gear a little slower then the hardcore PvP's which will leave it to skill to win.

As things are now it just a waste of time trying untill rewards are retuned to post 1.2 levels.
