Well if it is going down, no one to blame except themselves.

Enough said.
Stop it with this Conspiracy theories.. People only laugh at you for it.
And Bf3 got back development cost and more... Don't believe everything you hear, or read unless it's coming from EA.

Layoff's in one division while hiring in another are common. Look at United Airlines for example, Continental management is hiring on that side of the company while shrinking United. A common management tactic. Net size at EA could still decrease significantly. Their stock is still in the toilet and they're still reigning "Worst Company in America."

This one is a bit more in depth.

This seems to be more focused on the stock from EA and seems to lean both ways.

It seems EA have had a poor financial year due to BF3 and SWTOR.

I have found this on several other sites, it seems to be reliable.

I don't want to start a flame war or an "I told you so" thread. Instead, I was wondering what people would like to see to maybe improve the player base.
I am one of the people that is on the fence, I have around 90 days or so left on my sub but am, as of yet, not convinced to renew it.
Following the new "world event" (which I though was good mostly) maybe this is the way forward?
So lets hear it, what would it take (for those that aren't sure or maybe have already cancelled) to bring you back?
For those that are already commited, what more things would you like improved or added?

Lets try and keep it on track and pleasant ok?

Ok, weigh in.
you do know that this is what big companys do before a stakehoders meeting, they cut jobs to save money which makes there numbers look good to the holders, blizzard did the same thing in december.

untill the numbers have been put out, no one knows if they have gone down.

and to be honest how do you know if they have gone down, as this is the games first quarter, its never had any sub numbers before, apart from the 1.7m at active accounts at launch.

come back in Q2 and tell us the numbers have gone up or down

untill then this is a wasted thread
We need RVR in this game, lets make world burn with pvp

From the looks of things BioWare is going to be losing most of the Dev's here very soon, the player base is going to drop down come this week as people see 1.2 hasn't changed anything and has made everything worse. The plague was a bad idea and is upsetting most of the player base.

The death blow to TOR is coming as well, everyone I've talked to really wants to play Secret World. Guild Wars 2 is already being looked at as what will be one of the best games of the year. And Diablo 3 is well Diablo 3 we all know how well it will do.

So no nothing can save TOR, it's too little and too late to save it.
I don't suppose you have any facts to go with your haterade?

How many subscribers does TOR have? If we knew this we would have facts. I don't see layoffs as a big deal when a game as big as SWTOR going into update mode as opposed to full creation game mode. If they didn't hire contractors this makes sense to me.

But nobody really knows how the game is doing, so who knows.

Eh, I don't claim that subs haven't dropped, but nobody has numbers. At least some figures were provided for BF3.
Theres no supposedly about it, the servers had queues and were red loads, now they are empty. The MMO market is saturated and attrition is natural, they certainly are not gaining subs

If you want to get players attention you need to do something different, not the same thing they already have.

The game that will beat WoW is the game that is not like WoW.

GW2 has the most innovation we have seen in any MMO since Ultima Online, or perhaps EQ, but definately more then WoW. GW2 has the chance to be the next step because they understand this fact. Innovation is key, GW2 is its own game, it is almost nothing at all like WoW.

Not so different. My husband is in beta and right now the beta forums are cloged with:

OMGzorz no end game!!! Gear means nothing!!!! I'm bored waaaa waaaa

It is the single most vile toxic community I have ever witnessed; it makes TORchan look like the My Little Pony Friendship is magic club in comparison.

Whoever wrote that article on Startup Grind needs to learn to proofread, it is full of typos.

The lemmings are the ones predicting a downfall, when they have been wrong 100% of the time now for many decades and many MMOs now.
I have a bad feeling about this
