Well thoughout and articulated OP. Glad to see someone say what needs to be said, maybe by 1.5 there will be many of the things you listed. Come back then, probably be about 6 months to a year on that though.
Relabeling future patches as Expansions, just like EA Louse said a year ago. Who got the last laugh?

You really need to stop making things up.

1.2 would have happened regardless thanks to in game bug reports and the suggestion forums, also please provide your evidence that the investors are pulling out...if you can't you are going to end up looking foolish.

You are correct. Once people like an MMO then developers just stop adding things to it and say all is well now that fans are happy. Oh wait that is not how it works. Complainers end up pressuring developers into releasing patches earlier than they should and continue to complain.

Exactly, Im fairly certain the aprox time of the 1.1/2/3/4 patches were/are already set. The content will depend to a certain degree to player feedback. The podcast already showed that they dont consider posts from haters or self-centered people feedback.

i boycotted ME3. its not entirely EA 's fault though they are largely to blame. BW had been starting the dumb down consolfication of their single player games for quite a long time prior to EA. I had low expectations of TOR but i did think it was going to be a true MMO, its far more hybrid lobby esq then i had anticpated completely directed at the new MMO player. not even the casual audience in the end analysis. it was specfically designed for the facebook gamer to bring them into the MMO market and the single player gamer. unfotunately the veteran is not finding much substance in TOR other then 8 stories which my Gaming style is much more a focus on my main chr alts are for 6 to 9 months in to game.

Right you are; Our guild wasn't lucky enough to be selected to go to the summit, however we have spoken to several people that did and several of them showed up with a "BioWare called us here to help save the game" attitude...not only were they ignored by the developers everyone was pretty sure that they wouldn't get an invite back.

Ya'll have fun, sorry to see you go.

Let's be honest, if it wasn't this patch, it would have been something else. I just don't think you like the game very much.

But good luck, sincerely.

This game was far from rushed. It had a very long cycle of development, EA put tons of money into the game's development, not to mention advertising. EA is not really the problem here, they have been pretty hands off as far as this game goes. They let BioWare have free reign for the most part. And to say EA is the worst company in the world because of a 4Chan trolled poll makes no sense. EA is leagues above Activision, given they produce good games and support their indie devs. They don't have the DRM issue that Ubisoft does. Honestly, EA is just a decent business, a complete turn around from a decade ago.

The game is fine, it just suffers only from Solo-itis. If people actually played together, this game would be a ton better.

I gotta love how when someone who puts forth the effort to do the right thing and actually talk to the company of which they are displeased with in a civilized manner instead of threatening them with loss of business, that person gets ridiculed by the rest of the community and flooded by the morons who are quick to blindly jump to it's defense unnecessarily.

The op is not attacking the game like everyone else. He is stating that "you screwed up, here are some things you can do to fix it" like a calm and collected and responsible consumer of a product.

So in the immortal words of that famous bumper sticker, get off his ***.

In regards to the subject matter. Yes, I will say that 1.2 came too soon. There is a difference between Soon as in a time frame and Soon as in it is not yet it's time. 1.2 was not finished and should not have been pushed out like it was. It was vastly incomplete and what they are doing airs on the side of the EA business practices, which as the community is so vocal about, are very poor (and iIagree).

1.2 was implied so heavily to have a lengthy and very intricate role play mechanic to get a robust upgrade. Instead it was given a half *** implemented system 1.5 update with a "to be continued" attached to it. This was a very poor decision. If Bioware continues this kind of business practice they can see a lot more loss of money. That is not a threat. It is the truth. And out of everything that I love of the game and the Universe i would rather see it grow and be amazing like World of Warcraft was/is to some people. I do NOT want Star Wars: The Old Republic to become another Warhammer: Age of Reckoning (will never forgive EA and mythic for what they have done to WAR. So disapointing.)

Sorry for the TL;DR. Here is a summary:
A) Get off the op's *** and let him do the responsible thing in the correct formula.
B) Requisition some consumer ethics. If more of the community has them, it takes power away from the company's who think they can do whatever the hell they want and forces them to actually have business ethics.
C) Learn to see the others perspective and understand that the internet is not just about you.

Ubisoft has changed their DRM policy. Their upcoming games will no longer have any kind of DRM - instead they will be offering companion services and high quality technical support.

UBISOFT WANTS TO MAKE THEIR GAMES AND SERVICES SO GOOD THAT PIRACY WILL BE THE LEAST APPEALING OPTION.
