ok ok....lets look back to the spec theory.....does world of warcraft require a certain and specific com and spec to play it?? **** NO......does Mass Effect need a specific *********** spec to run the game....**** NO!!!!.....

unless WOW and ME3 has issues with Windows 7.....i dont see how compatibility has any issues regarding the updates and patches of the main files thats clearly BW fault....

and once again ill state,ITS NOT THE USERS....STOP BEING CLU FROM TRON AND START BEING MORE LIKE SAM FLYNN...... -______- clearly BW end not ours....

I think we might be onto something here:

1.2 Doesn't patch on this machine
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Intel Core i7-2600k CPU 3.40Ghz 3.40GHz
12.0gb
64 bit OS
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560

It does patch on my Windows Vista low spec machine, easily.

Nothing to do with traffic, dns, networks or periods of the day.

Greetings all,

We are currently investigating this issue, and will continue to do so, but we wanted to give you an update of what we have discovered so far. In all the cases we have investigated so far, this error has been a result of faulty hardware, usually hard drives and RAM. For players encountering this issue, we would like to ask you to do the following:
  1. Run chkdsk
For Windows 7/Vista: Right click on the drive you want to check (in Windows Explorer) and select Properties. Now click on the "Tools" tab and press "Check now..." at the top under 'Error-checking'

For Windows XP, at the command prompt type “chkdsk” and then press enter.

Please perform this on all hard drives.
  2. Run memtest86+ (www.memtest.org)
Please run the memtest at least 6 times.
If you tried the above suggestions and do not find any errors, please update this thread and we will investigate your case further. If you do run into errors, we recommend contacting your manufacturer for further assistance.

In the meantime, we will carry on our investigations, and will continue to update you with our findings.

Please note that while we can recommend using memtest86+ to try and help diagnose these issues, unfortunately we cannot offer support in the use of this program.
