"All servers are now back up and running! Please note that you will download a small patch upon login (approx. 200MB). Thank you for your patience. As a reminder, due to today's unexpected maintenance, all active subscribers will receive a full day of game time as compensation"

you wouldn't see blizzard do this,

Really?

Blizzard is 10000x better than BioWare.

Blizzard usually gave 3 days of free time for a simple 3 hour extended maintenance.

I too played WoW for 5 years, and I recall ONE time that Blizz gave 3 days credit... IIRC, it was for something much larger than this issue though. So, i still give BW kudos for stepping up to the plate much sooner than other companies do.

psst... SoE never gave us crap for all the PatchQ... err, EverQuest downtime

I cant help but feel that the extra time was more like "here's some free time while we try to sort out the mess we made with the last patch."

On a side note, WoW used to compensate players with free time in the early days of WoW. As they got better at posting patches, they stopped doing this.

LOL, you're such a liar.

EDIT: I got a total of 20 free days from Blizzard between 12/24/2004 - 12/9/2011.

is this blizzard from a alternate universe? They had an extra what 6-8 hourse of downtime and a free day of service is very fair compensation. No need to give 3 days

It happened in vanilla only. Might have happened once or twice in TBC as well which i cant remember but that's about it.

There's a pattern there...and a reason.

Which is fine tbh... in this early stage of the game it's beneficial. I'd be raising an eyebrow if they did this further down the line though.
