so credit where credit is due even if it was taken over to late to really help.

When they merged with Mythic, Bioware stated that they did not run WAR and were not actively directing Mythic.

I don't know if that changed, but it's mind-boggling that they re-used so many of the failed concepts and even some of the core game mechanics and code in this game.

They had years to dissect WAR and see where it went wrong. And they learned nothing.

Let me start out by saying that I've played Final Fantasy 11 for many years. And despite the insane grinds in that game and the shear difficulty involving just about anything.. I loved every second of it. Perhaps that will give you some insight into my mindset and how I prefer things to be.

It saddens me honestly to see game after game try to emulate World of Warcraft with such extreme casualness and.. hmm, I guess isolationism. This model isn't sustainable to me.. I haven't played many games like this.. just Final Fantasy 11 and Aion honestly. But what I see from each new game being released is that they die out faster and faster with each new iteration.

None of these games have staying power. Why? Because they lack a community. There is no way that a person should be able to go from level 1 to level 50 with little to no interaction with other people..

It kind of baffles me honestly that people can pick up an MMO and than proceed to complain that they don't have enough time to accomplish anything or can't do anything by themselves. Some games are extreme, like FFXI. You literally could not do anything alone in that game from level 10 and up. And that game has one of the strongest communities I have ever seen.

I was looking forward to enjoying SWTOR for a long time to come. But sadly I don't see it happening. Once the next new MMO comes out I fully expect most to jump ship and leave only the most die hard players behind. And that will be great for those people.. because sadly, when the game is dying. That's the only time I see a real community forming and sustaining this game for years to come.

Yeah it was originally Bioware-Mythic EA, but it's just been Bioware EA for a long, long time now, Mythic is just a memory.

They got it sorted, just far too late.

They did sort of break the game with 1.4 again (Bioware's first major solo patch in charge), but even 1.4 would have been a much more successful game than the 1.0 Live release. The current 1.4.5 or 1.4.6 game is actually very good in most ways (still need to recapture some of 1.3.6 highlights though).

Yup, I dunno Sparklyhorse just refuses to accept the Bioware do run WAR for some reason, I've absolutely no idea why he doesn't accept reality though.

(it's just extremely strange to see him commenting in a thread about Warhammer Online when he refuses to accept who actually runs it! )
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

This game reminds me of episode 3.

"You were supposed to be the choosen one!"

I just get this feeling while playing that everything was half assed except for the class story lines. Combat log not in at launch, then now having this txt file ********, ui being not customizeable till 4 months in, then lacking more then 4 bars, no real PvP ladder, ilum, PvE conent being buggy as hell, poor population management, poor engine optimization, low/high res textures ....the list goes on.

Not what I expected.
Meanwhile, in Tera general chat -

"The sad thing is, arguing with fanbois on the forums was more entertaining than their 300 million dollar single player MMO from 2008"

Hell the whole wall of text is just one huge assumption isn't it?

I'll wait for actual, hard numerical proof before I assume anything.

You know what they say about assuming things right?
Yes, and when you have those numbers, I'm sure you'll do your best to put a positive spin on them. I've been a supporter of the game and was generally positive about it until this latest fiasco, and now I've moved to the other side of the fence.

The funny thing is, a lot of the issues don't even affect me personally. But I'm not the type of person that sits around and says "I got mine, too bad for you." Unfortunately too many people on these forums are exactly like that, and anyone that doesn't support BW 100% is labeled "Entitled" or a "whiner".

Anyhow, none of this matters anyhow. The only thing that does is clicking the "Unsubscribe" button, which I've already done (After posting yesterday about how I intended to sub for at least a year)

Makes no diff whether any Games that follow SWTOR have been hyped or not,

My gut feeling is that this house of cards will come tumbling down as soon as anymore new Games hit the market,

Based on the fact that people are running scared to high pop servers, they are abandoning their existing chars, some of which are lvl 50's, and re-rolling onto servers that have higher populations.

This is a bad sign, pure and simple.

You can gloss over it, pretend its not happening, but it is.

I honestly do think they should just convert it back into what it really is, a Single Player Game,

Charge a single purchase fee, and forget the MMO,

Remove the PvP,

Let us run with 3 companions,

Then retune all the Flashpoints and Heroics for 1 player and 3 companions.

Job Done.

just a thought

"I am suffering from a cascade failure,
The flaws in my ENGINE are multiplying exponentially,
And my Death is inevitable, I am not worth mourning."

SWTOR, Chamber of Speech, HEROIC 2+

You can't run through anyone to get to the healer, you actually need to take out Tanks, and dps that are in the way.

So a good group of 6 can facepwn 20+ players easily, if not more.

Warhammer online with collision detection gives us | Strategy, tactics and teamplay.

Too bad the rest of the game sucked, the mechanics were awful. But i still play RvR from time to time, and it's so awsome, sure hope Gw2 copies alot of it.
You wouldn't be saying that if you played Warhammer during the first year. Why do you think the population nose dived and WAR is left with 3 servers? it took them how many years now to get that best RVR system?

The state of the game speaks for itself i doubt anyone is going to believe what you are saying which is load of bull.
