EVE is a niche game that appeals to a very specific type of player and they have all the subs their ever gonna get. Most games that have come out in the last several years aren't trying to be EVE, they're trying to be WoW. A casual game that appeals to a much larger audience than what EVE is aiming for.
It has a steady increase of subs for the last 9 years.
True its not for everyone thus the funny EVE learning curve pic

Me to man, me to.

But these people are so GD arogant, they just wont admit that their ideas allready have been rejected once, so now they are messing up yet another game with their silly ideas

Well if you think a minute, putting aside hatred and betrayal feeling, it's how the corporate works.
There are for sure people arguing that the result is not near what they wanted (not expected).
It's the blaming game, you know it's going on, not matter what

can you make sword in box light sword so sword come out when opened? then if sword is back after sword, use light saber on box, and saber will be boxed after sword is out.

Two different scenarios:

Person A spends 1000 dollars ofthe company's money and make 100,000 in profit.

Person B spends 10,000 dollars of the company's money and makes 200,000 in profit.

Person B clearly made more money...but Person A is going to be the next VP with a corner office, because he knows how to maximize investments and turn a little into a lot. Business isn't about making money...it's about making profit. Projects can make money and still be deemed failures, because the opportunity cost is simply too high...and the more you spend, the higher that opportunity cost is.

There's a reason they're giving away free time, trials and basically scrambling like they're being shot at right now in spite of the fact that the game is clearly making money. It's because it isn't making enough money. Expectations were extremely high for this game...not just from the fans, but from the suits and investors. People were sitting around really believing that the game would burst out of the gate and be right up there with WoW. It's not, and the pressure to get it there must be enormous.

Additionally, there's the LA factor to consider. Given the huge debacle that was SWG from start to finish, LA was really looking at this game to wipe away the stink from that failure...but instead, it's only further contributing to the perception that SW games are just not that good. LA wanted a home run here, and what they got was a ground ball to second.

All in all, there really can't be any doubt that the higher ups and investors are not satisfied with the current state of the game's profits. And it doesn't seem like marketing or the devs can get their acts together in a way that's going to offer them any relief whatsoever.

You seem to know a lot about the internal workings at Bioware. I mean considering you actually have zero idea how much profit the game is making, how satisfied the investors are, what Lucas Arts wanted and their degree of happiness.

Hell the whole wall of text is just one huge assumption isn't it?

I'll wait for actual, hard numerical proof before I assume anything.

You know what they say about assuming things right?

And that's the problem with the modern game industry. Profit is king.
They are starting to cut back on project resources while giving shorter project deadlines times and are running the QA/testing with a skeleton crew.

EA is throwing money away on advertising, outright buying positive reviews for their games and also in their new cyber army that patrols internet forums, twitter, and other places either doing viral marketing or trying to contain fan backlash.
That money would be better spent if they redirected it towards game development and testing.

Bioware has released their last 3 games too early, and very buggy.
Dragon Age 2 was very, very bad.
This game could have used another 6 months of testing and optimization.
Mass Effect 3 was excellent, if very linear. But the end was so bad.

The same type of greed and the death of creativity that has plagued the music and movie industries has now become firmly entrenched in the video game industry as well.

One of the biggest *** moments was EA deciding to use the team responsible for WAR on this MMO to cut back on costs.

Things like assuming Bioware doesn't run Warhammer Online or hasn't for more than 2 years now?
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

I agree SWToR is not in the same boat as Warhammer,

but!

SWG was considered by many to be a significant-catastrophic failure by not stabilising at over 1 million subs, it typically sat between 500k-800k as I recall. As you say ~500k subs is fine for other MMOs but for a game with the Star Wars logo? Lucas Arts considered that to be totally unacceptable with SWG, so what makes people think that they will accept it with SWToR?

To be honest, I wouldn't accept anything less than 2 million subs for a Star Wars MMO. Think of it this way - for a license to "print your own money" does it get any better than being able to put "Star Wars" on your box? one of the largest brand/franchise/trademark in the world and yet its crowning jewel MMO appears to be struggling to maintain a healthy 6 figure number of subs? Is there a larger self-selling juggernaught than Star Wars? How much did this game cost to make? further more when the CEO of EA is reported as expecting average subs of 500k-1mill users, I'd say that indicates something of the underlying intentions of the publishers. (all rhetorical questions ofc)

For this game it's early days yet, but you can bet the scrutineers and accountants over at LA will be watching the performance with microscopes and rightly so.

On the one hand the game is more than fine, but on the other as a Star Wars product!? not so fine in my opinion.

Like may other players, I dont want this game to disappear, I want it to succeed, but what I dont want is yet another mindless combat-fest mmo, with the sole goal of reaching level-cap asap then grind currency/rep to get better gear to open new rep/currency grinds rinse n repeat, I've done that to death in other MMOs so I don't really want that to be the sole be-all end-all in yet another MMO otherwise I'll be gone in a couple of months.
