You can be sure right now that heads are rolling at the corporate offices, not because the game isn't making a profit, but because the money used to make the game could have gone to other projects that would have made more money.
Seriously, this is akin to the (in)famous F-35 program. MMOs cost a lot of money to laucnch, but a lot of this money if from incompressible expenses.

I mean here, how much of the SW TOR price tag was due to voice over ? SW TOR might have cost like, say, 200 milions, but how much of the 200 millions is due to voice overs ? 25 ? 30 maybe ?

SWTOR is a great game with a lot of players but what a lot of people dont seem to understand is that fixing things in an mmo takes time because they are huuuuge.
but you will always get the little child like people spouting BS and doom and gloom instead of actually playing the game.

Honestly, I dont think people care anymore about "OMG SWTOR NEEDS TO HAVE MORE SUBS TO BE BETTER THAN WOW"

Im all for QUALITY. I want this game to work. I dont care how many people play it, as long as im having fun thats all that matters.

I loved the rvr in warhammer but what killed it for me was what seemed like instant death in the rvr open zones when the server would just lag so much you moonwalked and then pop.

I think thats what nuked warhammer for alot of people too, the server lag was just insane when you got into some great battles over forts. so good game terrible servers.

You can't run through anyone to get to the healer, you actually need to take out Tanks, and dps that are in the way.

So a good group of 6 can facepwn 20+ players easily, if not more.

Warhammer online with collision detection gives us | Strategy, tactics and teamplay.

Too bad the rest of the game sucked, the mechanics were awful. But i still play RvR from time to time, and it's so awsome, sure hope Gw2 copies alot of it.
The Collision Detection was a farce. You were stopped by an enemy player for like a second before you could "push" true them. It only became noticeable in keep/fortress sieges with 50 tanks standing in a doorway. On my Black Guard I've never been able to stop anyone from reaching a healer just by body-blocking. Still, it was better than no Collision Detection I suppose.
And no one ever took out tanks before healers, except in the aforementioned choke-hold keep/fortress sieges where you'd have 50 tanks standing in the doorway to eat through.

That said, the RvR lakes with keeps were brilliant and something like that to separate the Rep & Imp PvE area's would be fantastic. I'm still sad WAR failed so hard in other ways because it had so much potential. Pure incompetence

You know what's gonna kill this game? The forums, like every other MMO. If I see one more same-sex romance thread or another "Omg this proff is waaay OP!!!" I'm going to have an aneurysm. Why, you might ask? Because the former is requesting atmospheric/RP content while the game lacks the basic recipe for longevity and the latter is attempting to kill the enjoyment of classes they don't play before leaving forever before the next bandwagon departs... Meh, I'm just venting. The game isn't terrible, but Bioware seems a bit clueless. If they want this game to last, it needs to become a proper MMO. Not one-button kill classes mixed with trashy fangirl fanfics who just had to have that incredibly useful and entertaining family tree.

Focus Bioware. Get the ball rolling on world PvP and challenging end-game content for PvEers. Ignore the RPers/FoTM kiddies, they will be gone very soon -- and it'll be just you and us PvPers/Raiders.

Indeed, and also failing endgame & the many class balance issues which are extra important in a PvP-based game. Mythic was waaaay too slow to fix things.

Age of Conan was a modest success in the long run. It's CERTAINLY not as catastrophic as FFXIV and Warhammer.

Eventually (with enough optimisation) it got so it could sustain 400 vs 400 battles in one basin as barely playable (and 100 to 200 per side running very well)....... but it was far too late unfortunately.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?
