Just want to publicize an experience that is anti-XSLFG tool. Now,I understand the low server pops want them. I understand all the reasoning there, but the answer to their problem can be implemented differently (merge server anyone? eventual char transfer will come in).

Anyways on to my experience.

I have a friend.. yes I have one, who decided he wanted to fast track to 60 valor rank. 8 hours straight (or more) of afk warzones. The next day, he goes into warzones intending to actually play. He couldn't believe it when people saw him in the game and immediately left. Absolutely boggled. I tried to explain how now he has a reputation for being bad, that all the people in pvp guilds who saw and noticed him would've told their friends and he would have to either shelve the character for a few weeks til people forgot, or deal with repercussions.

This wouldn't happen in XSLFG, but he deserved his bad rep and all the repercussions that came with it.

Cross server is only slightly worse than adding bots. In pve bots won't ninja. Or quit as soon as it gets difficult.

Exactly. No way I am doing that....that is..abandon all my time and effort put into my 8 chars for another server. No way.

But cross server for PVP warzones is coming. Allready confirmed by BioWare. It is one for PVE we want. Some of us that is.

Seen it in "that other game". It's the no1 reason for not going back. If swtor gets it. It loses players like me. Simple.

On the other hand: I'm 100% FOR a server-only-LFG tool.

I guess, once you stop playing a game like it's a job - 'earning' 'items' by 'working' for them - what is left is playing them for the social interaction. And I'd rather have no group than a group of ego-effers.
The major issue is, a server side one will not be very effective on low pop ones. Simple logic will tell you it will take a lot longer to get a grp on those. And not sure about some others, but my time is important and I donot have all day to be waiting for a group for a run. If this continues to be a problem...I cannot see myself staying with TOR for the long term. So....without one TOR loses players like me. Simple.

Simple way of finding out where the majority of opinions lie?

Do a survey in game. Have one question pop up when you first log into your account. "Do you want Cross Server LFD?" and a yes or no. Just once and only on one character.

That way they get the opinion of the players who don't use the forums.
That's BS.. What the pop up question should say is:

Do you want cross-server LFD, cross-server GTN, *AND* cross-server guilds, *OR* do you instead want us to allow server transfers and then have server merges following that?

Two *REAL* choices, not some half-*** one-sided non-solution like XSLFD.

Flash Point runs for me are quite rare, it would be awesome for me not have to wait god knows how long for a run. But a PvP cross-server idea would be awesome.

Someone was advertising for Taral V normal level flashpoint last night and needed a DPS. I jumped at this, hadn't done it yet.
I warned them this but none of them had done the Flashpoint yet, so I said that's cool I've got a tab open with the boss tactics.

We wiped about three times before the first boss due to the tank leaping in without checking we were ready, everyone attacking different targets and CC breaking.

Finally we get to the boss, and wipe about another 5 times easily, even after going through tactics and arranging what we'd do. Once because the tank leaped in without checking, and then mostly because the healer couldn't keep the tank alive and the DPS didn't appear to be doing much.

After this every just left the party without saying a word, and I'd wasted nearly an hour for nothing.

There were nearly 200 people in Fleet at this time and not a single one wanted to do Taral V normal.

At least with Cross-Server group finder I could have got a brand new group within minutes and finished that flashpoint.

Meh, yeah a cross realm lfg tool won't promote community... but MMO communities died the minute the console gamers started playing WoW anyways. The community you're talking about doesn't exist friend. Sad to say.

Well that's three questions then, because some of us don't want cross-server Guilds (I'm curious as to how you want that to work though?). And I think a lot of us who would like Cross-Server would also like server merges and transfers too.
