no im going to agree with the OP on this one and im not QQing by any means when i say this...but the amount of credits for legacy unlocks is unreal i have a level 36 legacy and i shouldnt have to buy everything too....why even have legacy when honestly its just credit teirs....everyone realizes this was a mistake....because having to but guild bank tabs plus your legacy unlocks = insanely stupid amounts of money....Bioware is only helping gold farmers by doing this...and at this point *&%& it most people gonna buy their credits online...this is stupid...also eff the punctuation

i thought the legacy items that could be unlocked without cash were the race unlocks along with the character's respective buff. you can, without leveling to 50, bypass this by simply purchasing it.

however, i do not recall whathisface saying that you would unlock the neutral GTN, for instance, based on legacy level alone. in fact, i thought this was made pretty clear. i'm starting to see that you're all basically experiencing what is known as "mass hysteria". it's pretty sad to see.

furthermore, credits are so easy to make in this game, especially with the early days of slicing still affecting the economy. these "expensive" items are a good thing in the long run.

At first they said either/or and were perfectly clear on that.

Then last week during the q&A they changed their tune. They either miscommunicated or lied. They tend to do them both a lot.

Okay I'll save any trolls the trouble... I suck, my toons suck, I'm a noob and I should learn to play. Now that that's out of the way....

Yeah credits are "somewhat" easy to come by BUT the amount needed for Legacy stuff is insane... it's like why did I bother working on my legacy levels? Why have levels if you're going to charge for everything? And the guild bank price and member amt is stupid. They could at least give any size guild ONE tab. Stingey.

This appears to have been a change since that interview. I see the logic of the credit sinks and agree they are needed, but there is disparity between what we were told and what we now have.
I feel your pain. Between the crafting BS we have to go through to the fact that most items we craft are available as drops that then flood the markets and kill our chances of making any profit this game. I am not a PVP player and most of the daily missions are BS and didnt work. Space combat got broken in one of the last updates. It is a pain in the butt for us crafters and frankly I dont see any improvements to the crafting and gathering system. I quit fighting because it was costing too much to repair and tried to go the crafting route. But with all the people flooding the market with ultra cheap items it is really hard to compete and actually make a profit.

I would like to hear the reasoning from the dev's behind why they thought this was a brilliant course of action...

Introduce yourself to the concept of a time sink. A crucial aspect of any MMO.
You are not your rig specs. You are not your K/D ratio. You are not your character level. You are not your sig.

The difference here is that they are trying to encourage people to play not just one, but many alts. Sure, it's easy to grind dailies which is tedious but effective and you could probably buy one expensive thing a week, but you're spending all your time only on a high level, not the alts they want us to enjoy.

Grind for upper tier PVE/PVP gear, crafting, other MMO staples, fine. But the one thing that seems ideal to enhance the experience for casuals/addicts is only suited for people willing to grind. Plus, they tweaked experience earned from warzones and space missions in order to have you purchase the original rates again later (1.3).
