Why is it so hard for people to grasp that Bioware knows the numbers and you don't?

Server mergers won't come until after they give server transfers a try. Server merges are ALWAYS a last ditch effort, after all else fails. Have you folks actually been around a game that did merges? If you have, then you would know what a huge task it is. Even if Bioware started to plan for merges now, it would be several months before it could be implemented.
DCUO merged all servers into one big server. Thats BW should do and just have multiple instances of planets.

If you do it during peak time, you can get a pretty good view of the "best picture" of the active population on your realm. It's not going to be accurate of the entire server population, but it will tell you exactly how many people are online at that time. The who list returns upto 100 players, if it returns 100 players, you refine your current /who until you get less than 100, and you know that within that bracket that is exactly how many of those are online.

If you look at around the same time (In my case, just before I start raiding, and again just after we finish) over a period of weeks you can see that the numbers have been dropping. I'm not going to claim everyone quit, but certainly less people are playing often on my server (Niman).

The Warzone queues are getting longer, and it's getting more common that they start with only 6 players. The Auction House is becoming emptier.

A couple of months ago, even at this time, 2AM, I could get into a warzone within 5 minutes, and have a decent 8v8 game. The queue just doesn't pop now after midnight - or extremely rarely anyway.

I'm not going to claim it's like this everywhere, but it is on Niman. Niman was a server that many guilds were even assigned to, so it's not like it was one of the additional servers that were added. People just either stopped playing, quit, or went to other servers.

It does show all players online.

I dont need to assume anything. I know it does because I understand its function.

Oh WAIT you mean they made an intentionally broken tool? How dumb does that sound? Really?

To be fair, it says in the near future after 1.2. It may come with 1.3, but that's not what it says - maybe I'm being naively hopeful, but I'm just saying, it doesn't say 1.3, so it's not unreasonable from that, and what they've previously said, to expect them within the next few weeks.

Prove that it shows all players. Prove that there isn't a cap. Prove that it shows everyone in all the instances. Heck, prove that it's not bugged.

Dumb sounding is acting like you know better then the company that makes the game.

I'm not saying the population is increasing or decreasing, simply because I don't know. But the crying for server merges is way, way premature.

Meanwhile, in Tera general chat -

"The sad thing is, arguing with fanbois on the forums was more entertaining than their 300 million dollar single player MMO from 2008"

I'm not making the claim I know the numbers. I openly admit I don't.

It shows all players that are Online, which is the key part. There was a yellow post at some point, but you can easily check it yourself.

do a /who no arguments, just empty the search box, and you should get 100 results. No more. Now, do a /who 1-20 or something, you should see a list of players between 1-20, maybe that will be less than 100, if not, make the search smaller, until you get less than 100 results. When you have less than 100 results, you have the entire result list for the people within the range you searched.
