What does the average age of any demographic have to do with it?

Biased? You need to understand, it is quite hard to give TOR fan-points for features which do not exist.

You may give TOR future expectation points though, +1 for possible catch-up until version 2.x

Because it would show who was able to play the games they suggest to have played for a start.

Ok. I'm pushing 40. I still don't see how it matters much. I played SWG from the start. The Pre-CU combat system was horrid, but the character development system was novel and interesting. Crafting was superior to any other game at the time because it required thought and allowed for differentiation.

The game had a lot of missteps. A woeful number of them, but still I would rather play the game that shut down in December to this one. I don't get that choice though, despite assurances from the powers that be that I would get that.

Where TOR is concerned, I'm mostly neutral to it. It is what it is. The story's not bad. The combat system is brainless, and the crafting system was phoned in. Just right for the current generation, I suppose, but those that are looking for something mentally engaging are going to be disappointed.

SWG is dead.

It died because it sucked and no one played it.

If it didn't suck, it wouldn't have died the death it did.

That game alienated the entire population whose work was destroyed when they re-vamped the game, but I notice that none of the SWG fanboys mention that massive debacle, probably because most of them posting here didn't play SWG beta or vanilla and have no clue how much fun mixed classes were (because that was about the only thing in SWG that worked properly) before they took them away and replaced them with an army of entitled, brainless little Jedi.

I suggest "moving on", as has been mentioned, because the rest of us have.

I'll move on in about 8 years. Until then, I'll be just like the Pre-CU folks who hated on the NGE. For some reason I find it delightfully ironic.

If I'm not mistaken, SWTOR was the consequent MMO using the Star Wars IP. For those who played and loved SWG there is a refugee effect with the closing of SWG and the launch of SWTOR.

If SWG players came to SWTOR expecting SWG2 then I agree: Fail

But there are design choices that resulted in the current build of SWTOR that have resulted in threads asking for features both sandbox-oriented and not. By players who have varying backgrounds of play.

The list itself seems to send people into frothy-mouthed rages, so I will just say that for SWG vets there is really no place else to go. This leads to the decision to play or not to play (which at least for me will never be determined by forum mudslingers telling me to Move On, or shut up, etc.). It's a personal decision.

If you guys who love the current design are the majority + have the devs on your side + have factual knowledge that sandboxes and SWG are total fail. Why do you attack? It's a bit like beating up an old lady in a wheelchair isn't it?
