An AA system would have been 100x more appealing to the average MMO gamer (and infinitely more appealing to the hardcore, endgame focused player).

Mark my words. The legacy system will. be. a. failure. Book it.

I dont think that will be failure but it will not be the reason for the people that have stopped to return for more time than one month .

it is not an expansion but it is covering some of the missing features and there are more feaures that are still missing other than these will bring the 1.2 pacth

Class story isn't enough to be a huge draw IMO.

By they time they lost and need me to get back their 7 super weapon I would rather have been playing a single player game for story,

The class story really need more cinematic glory. More fighting side by side with a bunch of jedi and leading a army into battle with lots of action cut sense.

Yep. Oh well.
Meanwhile, in Tera general chat -

"The sad thing is, arguing with fanbois on the forums was more entertaining than their 300 million dollar single player MMO from 2008"

You're totally right. It's not like this update is adding any kind of new content or raid progression. Or even working on fixing any bugs or working on class balancing or anything important for gameplay. Nope. None.

Or maybe people dont enjoy doing the same quests in the same linear areas over and over. There is a group of people who do and they make a lot of alts.

However, another large (maybe larger) group wants to continue to play their character and continue to advance and improve. That is the point of a persistent world RPG isnt it?

To me, the legacy system will be rewards for something I intended to do anyway.
I planned on playing an alt from every class to see the story, and with the legacy I even get some bonuses for that.
And this is only the very first part of the legacy system.
They intend to support it for a long time, so who knows what else there will come.
(Beyond the things that come in 1.3 that are already known)

It isn't for you? I'm sorry to hear that. So you'll have to do with just flashpoints, operations and PvP,
all three of which are not really to my taste. Oh well. Have fun and enjoy.
I know I do.

Class stories makeup like 5%-10% of the entire leveling process. The rest is repeating the same awful side quests or playing huttball 1000 times.

This problem can be helped by leveling alts on the opposite faction of your main but theres one HUGE problem with this.........your new alt cant join your current guild! So why waste my time leveling an alt thats on the Repub side when my guild is Empire? Of course some people will go but omgz we needed hard faction for teh story and you cant mix empire with repub in 1 guild cuz the lore guy! This excuse might have flown before they allowed things like Pureblood Sith Jedis and force wielding Bounty Hunters. Hard factions add NOTHING to this game and only discourage people from rolling alts on the opposite faction their guild resides.

But Bioware simply had to have 2 hard factions cuz u know. WoW did it.

If the unique class stories had made up a larger percent of your playing time, I'd have no problem rolling alts. The problem, of course, is that class quests only make up a small portion of actual content; you spend more time doing the same, repetitive side quests than doing anything unique and interesting.

This game lends itself to alt-play--intentionally or not. Unfortunately for a lot of us, the repetitive content makes alt-play a chore. It's a shame Legacy does nothing to address this, really.

I do. But playing the same quests (planet quest and side quests) more then three times is enough. They are boring. You didn't play Mass Effect 3 more then three times, did you?
