Well, The Fatman is the de facto super server of SWTOR. Last night (Sunday at around 9PM EST) there was a 30 min wait to log in. Woah! haven't seen something like that since pre release / release week.

I'm very curious on how BW is going to manage the transfers. All the rats on the sinking ships that are the dead servers are going to be eye balling places like The Fatman, who are already slammed at capacity.

Should be interesting.

Hello!

I firstly want to say that I do believe that a server merge is needed, not just character transfers and so forth. Reason i think so is that the community of europe for example isn't big enough to host all those servers.

I recently got back to SWTOR, got myself a new PC since my old couldn't handle SWTOR and i find myself really disappointed at the game. Not saying that this is EA's/Bioware's fault or anything; but I can't enjoy the game.. At all.

I firstly want to point out that it is quite easy to get a group for the first flashpoint (which was amazing i must add.) But then you come to the second one, or the mandolorian raiders and you are faced with going to the imperial fleet for example. Typing /who and see there are just 15 people there and none of them are at your level range or are willing to help you.

I feel as if i am missing out on so much of the game, and I feel (me, the consumer) that it would just be a waste for me to pay for a further subscription of playing SWTOR.

I just re-subbed this week after reading about the competitive warzones in 1.2. Decided to give my scoundrel another go, but problem is my server has hardly any Republic left. In Fleet the other day there was 17 people. Hopefully they figure out a way to fix this as I the competitive warzones sound great, but I can't see them getting off the ground on servers with no pop.

I think the term you're looking for there is "one-off" transfers for AP players. I suspect this is going to be a manual process, and not one that is automated. It's probably something that has to be collected and lined up, and then done at once through a back end server management team process, involving more resources than they are prepared to commit for the entire US and EU player base.

In addition, we're talking about transferring characters from a multitude of servers to 3 servers, not a multitude to a multitude, as the more robust and automated system is probably designed to do.

It is also a TEST RUN, designed to find any bugs and discrepancies in the system, so it is only natural to pick a small test group of players to do this with, in this case those in the Asian/Pacific region.

I'm quite sure they know a little bit more about their back-end data architecture than you or I do. And I'm quite sure they are the ones that need to do this, not us.

This.... combined with the FPS problems in warzones = dead game as soon as 1.2 hits.. unless they make some large changes. I tried PTServer and the game seems a lil smoother in the aspect of the inventory bug being gone etc.. but overall there is absoluetly ZERO improvement in fps for warzones etc.. especially those like the one with the ships firing at each other... they simply need to add a particle effects slider... this would be the single most effective boost for people with FPS problems... but so far.. nothing to write home about.

which is what I figured and why I said this could take six months before the problem is fixed.

The way you endlessly expound on this issue, one would think you were a BioWare employee. If you are not, please let them speak for themselves. No one is interested in speculation. We want facts.

The option is yours.

they did announced it?good.you make a good point, but ,there is a simple issue from players view .i started on medium populated since early access ,done lvl 50 but after some time,it was increasingly difficult to find group to do endgame pve ,and pvp ,so gearing up nearly stopped, becaues pop dropped on low(very low)

now my point is,people would wait for patch, however delayed, but not everyone would be patient enough to wait for transfers to come.so you read all around how people and their friends quit swtor and waiting for other games to come.this long time without transfer can cost swtor a lots of people.you might argue that loosing those impatient ones isn't big loss, this game needs some funds.
So my point,Bioware should put transfer on higher priority.
just like everyone else, here is my refer a friend link http://www.swtor.com/r/zzxWxh

Again...SERVER TRANSFERS WILL NOT FIX ANYTHING.

You will have people on the dead servers which are more than 50% of total servers transferring to one of the 3 heavy servers creating queues over a hour or 2.

That is what will happen when we have transfers. All you do with transfers is moving people from one place to another place. And lets not forget the people that dont want to spend $$ to transfer, it will be like a single player game for those left on dead servers.

Merges NEED to happen. if they dont this game will DIE. Its a fact and the HUGE drop in population shows it.
