Yes we all love playing Huttball 9 out of every 10 warzones because of server imbalance, along sometimes waiting 30-60 minutes for one to even pop. This is not just in the level 50 bracket, but also in the 10-49 bracket.

Cross realm LFG tools were inevitable, your just going to have to deal with it.

So you would rather people sit around for 1+ hours just to find a single group for an ops?

#1 I am on one of the highest population servers and I have waited 35+ minutes for a simple Esseless group. I just don't get why people like you want to PUNISH those of us who just want to play this game and do it in a timely fashion.

#2 Community is so over-rated that is what a guild is for, and I don't want to wait 35+ minutes for a simple group.

I agree. If your Guild is not your community than you need to find another Guild.

Its not a community destroyer when we have things to stimulate us to group up such as heroic areas. All the cross server LFG tool would do is allow everyone even on the low population servers to access all of the content in regards to flash points. You ought to look at this as a means to keep people from complaining about lack of content when 90% of them aren't even accessing all of the content.

Which is a very good point.

Also the point about Guilds being your community is great too.

I would have to say that the dungeon finder tool definately ruined certain aspects of WoW. People ninja logging after getting the one item they came to get and the rest of the group getting stuck waiting for a replacement was a major issue. Cross realm grouping also meant alot of times you ended up with some really rude people and since you never saw them again they could care less. However that being said it allowed you to easily find groups so you could do more than just quest, otherwise there's no point in having FPs. When you spend an hour in general chat LFG and can't find a full group it's extremely discouraging and most people will just quit the game to go play something else.
As far as a single server LFG tool, it's not gonna work unless something is done to increase server populations, merging servers and getting the populations up seems to be the logical thing to do. So please throw us a bone.

Well, x-server is been talked about. It looks like SWTOR is going down the WoW route and will have the same ethics in terms of community and grouping.., shame. Time to look else where!

So... Whats all this talk about GW2?

Even though I disagree with you on your opinions, I don't think you should quit the game because of this. Clearly there is a lot more that you like about the game that you can still enjoy. You're in a Guild and enjoy playing with them? Then Cross Server LFG won't affect you much.

Besides which, there's nothing to say they're going to copy WoW's version exactly. They might change it or add to it in order to avoid the "bad behaviour" that people are worried of.

Why not just wait and see how it goes before judging and quitting?

And before LFG it was too many young people in the game. It was guilds who ganged up on non-guildies. It was new players. It was elitists. It was casuals. It was the hardcores. It was the meters. It was the busy people. It was the people who had no life. It was the game was new. Something always caused it. And maybe that something, whatever it was, just isn't going away? Yet somehow, just somehow, people out there managed to enjoy it. Despite the downside, which was always there and won't go away, things were fine back then. So why not now? Older, border, less patient, less tolerant and angrier maybe? Blinkers on to what's good? Rose-colored glasses? Friends moved on or don't have as much time for the game and/or you?

Honestly, throwing down the gauntlet and blocking off content unless you log on with a group of friends of the correct make-up for a group is harsh. Making people spam and wait is downright cruel.

I'm all for cross server if and only if I can run heroic quests, regular quest, free for all pvp, trade crafted/crafting stuff or just goofing around anywhere together with any cool people I happen to meet in it.
Be nice. But if not I'll settle for being able to meet up with them for flashpoints. Hopefully it gets expanded to include the rest at some point. Like you get an option to port in players from other servers to yours for a while if they're on your friends list.

I love the game m8, I truely do. But playing an MMO to me is more then just about loot etc. A sense of community. Which i know people in this thread seem to by pass. But in WoW it did change. The game became a lobby game.push that one button, in and out. repeat.

Ive played MMOs for years. and the social aspect about an MMO is what drew me in. Knowing people on the server, there class, meeting up. getting to know people. I know you can do this now to an extent. But MMOs were designed around this. This is how you had to be to get into groups. But now. Its gone and will soon be replaced with a console match making system.

No offense to the casuals as i know its to get them into the genre and gaming. I see the benifits no doubt. But i also see the downside. And the downside to me out weights the bonuses of the system. So to me if this game goes down that route. its no longer a game i will enjoy playing. So its best to move on!

If they implement a system which stops people jumping in an instance, getting what they want and moving on to the next. If it doesnt empower the ninjas and the idiots with no online gaming ethics. Ill stay, but WoW LFG empowers all these types of players. and if this comes to TOR.... Ill be gone.
