I'll rehash my point for the new version of the thread.
Most are not against LFG they just would like to keep it within the server so they get to know the people on it. When they talk about community I believe that's mainly what they are talking about. Being able to interact with people they encounter outside of the flashpoint/warzone.

I'm all for cross server if and only if I can run heroic quests, regular quest, free for all pvp, trade crafted/crafting stuff or just goofing around anywhere together with any cool people I happen to meet in it.

I'm still proposing a virtual server that links multiple servers together. Where players would be able to communicate and temporarily hop to another server to play with people from that server.

You post said a part which I would like to point out;

"Most are not against LFG they just would like to keep it within the server so they get to know the people on it." ???

Prove that "most" want what you want. Unless you can link a data figure which shows that, you are assuming that to be true. Just saying. Do ask me to prove you wrong with a data link. I never have made a statement that most want a cross server one. Only that a lot do and how it has worked out great in WoW and continues to be one Blizz is incorporating more into thier game and improving. Which does "prove" it is working well for them.

The fact this topic has at least twice now been restarted because the previous thread reached 1000 posts should be sign enough to Bioware that it's a very hot topic.
Simple way of finding out where the majority of opinions lie?

Do a survey in game. Have one question pop up when you first log into your account. "Do you want Cross Server LFD?" and a yes or no. Just once and only on one character.

That way they get the opinion of the players who don't use the forums.

I like that idea, but donot see them doing it. I cannot say most in this thread wants a cross server one, I feel like it is, but feelings can mislead. What I do hope BioWare atleast does is look at the points made out here in this thread and make the right decision based on the input the players give and the state of the game as to why this is a hot topic at the moment.

This is how you use a LFG properly:

1. Ask friends if they want to Party.

2. Ask Guildies if they want to Party.

3. Ask if anyone, on the Local Channel, if they want to party (I usually don't use this step)

4. Fill in spots with LFG

Going in alone with a LFG tool is just as risky as going in with a bunch of strangers you found on fleet. The reason people have more bad experiences with the LFG tool is simply because you're encountering more people.

It's actually been restarted 3 times, and it's more like 10-20 if you count the duplicate threads that were merged into this, some of which were also restarted multiple times. There were some of those threads that were hitting the limit every other day or so

It's been a hot topic since December, if not earlier.

That's how I used to do it over on WoW. I think everyone would rather group with friends or guildies first.
However there are just times when nobody else is online and your server is quiet.

And you made a great point. It's nothing to do with people turning bad because of no consiquences or that, people still do that regardless of Cross Server, but you're absolutely right! The more players you encounter the higher the chances of meeting bad players.

This is a good point. For example there have been times when my guild will team up and use the Looking for Raid tool in WoW and we make up close to half of the raid grp of 25 players. Actually, I can say we enjoy those types of runs just as much as those we do as a all guild one.
