No ram drive just using SSD.

I do spend time tweaking my system trying to make everything as smooth as i can.

Locking the refresh rate gave me stuttering.

I had my video card overlocked to 930/2200 but the card was running at 75C i did get a few lockups. Turned down my overclock on my video card to 980/2100 and i;ve not had a lockup since.

It does run better with bloom off but the i dont see the holo's and it looks better with bloom.

Try modding your INI file to run no AA and maybe even turn off FS if your running in to problems.

Here are some other tips

Another eye candy tweak which you should rather keep disabled. (enableadvenvirolighting = false,
DebugAdvEnviroLighting = false). If you have high-end PC, you may want to try adding these two tweaks in your client_settings.ini to improve graphics.

Dont force V-synce in nvidia control panel.
force tipple buffering and enable multi-tasking

TextureQuality = 0 high
TextureQuality = 1 medium
TextureQuality = 2 low

MeshLODQuality = 0 low
MeshLODQuality = 1 medium
MeshLODQuality = 2 high

DynamicLightsLimit = 2

Turn shadows off it really takes a fps hit
doShadows = false
doBlobShadows = false

And the standard things uninstall old video drivers reinstall new ones.
run CCleaner to clean out your system.
Reinstall Directx 9C
Defrag

If you OS is a few years old a reinstall would be good also.

The difference betweek temp files running on a 5400rpm hdd and a ramdrive is huge in some cases, mine in particular, less so with the ssd scenario rico is running on.

Os reinstall is probably a good idea, I have seen other posts with issues related to old dll files and such causing crashes, and I am sure they would cause slowness as well, specifically related to the c++ runtimes that swtor uses

I re install windows about every year on my gaming system just to keep things in tune. Files get corrupted and its always good to have a fresh os installed for gaming.

5400rpm drives are rather slow and really aren't that good for gaming. I have to say when i moved to ssd i was very impressed with it. Load times on wow was cut from over a minute to 15seconds. Games in general just ran so much smoother, no hick-ups because of hdd access.

Yes i have read ppl getting good results from ramdrives.

Give CCleaner a go for cleaning out your system

Also if your running a HDD DEFRAG is a must.

This is better then the windows defrager

Ccleaner is great but have you noticed any diference between piriform defrag and. The one built into windows?

try checking several ongoing fps issue threads, you'll find answers the CSR won't be able to give you - but no solutions.
