Darkness Assassin vs DP-6 Guard Droid: pointers?

So my Assassin is at level 50, but I'm still trying to wrap up my main story quests. I've put nearly everything into Darkness (I wasn't able to get the top-most advanced skill), with the rest of my points in Madness.

I got to the section in Fatal Blow where I'm up against the DP-6 Guard Droid.

Up until now, I've learned to play this advanced class and skill spread a bit better by reading the play so to speak, and managing my interrupts and attacks accordingly. Sometimes I mess up, sometimes it's a close call, but generally this general approach has worked. (I found it a bit frustrating partway through, but lately it's been really enjoyable.)

I was thrown off when I saw that Talos didn't carbon-freeze the droid, and then none of my interrupts worked. I unsuccessfully tried a couple of times, and decided to back off and think the tactics over.

At this stage, I've usually been going with Surging Charge with Talos (or was it Lightning Charge). I'm wondering if I should try Khem again with Dark Charge enabled, or try to use Andronikos to wear the droid down while I evade. The problem is I've been giving more equipment rewards to Talos and Ashara; I honestly didn't think Khem or Andronikos would be as relevant.

Anyway, if anyone's playing with specs similar to mine, I'd be grateful to hear any anecdotes on how you approached this battle, and how things went.

In that fight go dark charge mode with Talos its a easy win. Key more survival more room for error and make sure Talos is geared up as well all slots with cunning.

Also make sure that Talos is on medic watch, I have noticed it got turned off before when I was confused why I was dieing in fights that normally weren't a problem.

At lvl 50, you should pretty much be able to just out-burst the droid, anyway. Just make sure everything else in the room is either dead or sapped, before pulling. I did it at lvl 48 as deception, np.

Just a follow-up. As you all said, it was pretty straightforward once I switched to Dark Charge. Well, I actually had forgotten that I didn't have the shield generator in my off-hand, so it was pretty straightforward once I switched to Dark Charge AND put the shield gen in my hand. I kind of realized that oversight the hard way.

But yes, Talos had been my "favourite" thus far, so I had been keeping him well equipped. And, I made sure the room was clear to avoid unintentional interventions on the part of other NPCs.

"It was actually quite simple."

I am stuck here too but my problem is the droid killed me, and so I waited for the Call of the Force to reset and then when I came back the entire room had respawned. Now I have the two yellow/elites (the droid and the fanatic I had to kill before it) and the pather as well who wanders from the door to the back of the room.

I tried to pull the pather to the front of the room and get rid of him first, but I swear these yellows can aggro from three planets away. I ended up dropping faster than pants in a porno.
