jesus. As if it's not bad enough we're paying $15/mo for a mostly singleplayer game.

I like to solo myself. But the LAST thing we need to do is make what little content that requires a group to be able to be done solo at the level they're intended with the same rewards.

Now I'm all for the person that suggested NEW SEPERATE content that requires 3 other companions of yours..that's a great idea.

but make flashpoints soloable with a companion? no...just no. terrible idea. absolutely terrible.

What we NEED is a cross-server LFG tool.

making this game more single-player oriented than it already is is one of the worst ideas I've heard yet.

True and True, we need LFG, no doubt, and also .... if I may be so bold, a "port" into the instance. Once you are lucky enough to get a group, how long does it take to get to your ship, negotiate all of the drama to get to the flashpoint then start? Or, is the plan for me to stand in Fleet with a digit placed in an orifice waiting for the chance a group may form so that I am able to get on with it?
I am in ToR to play the game, not spam chat LFG, spend 10 minutes getting to the group for it to fall apart because it all took so long or a mother sends her 10yo to bed because it got to late! Let this be a dynamic fun experience please.

I think this is a great idea and here are a few reasons why:
1. I play on a low population server making it difficult to find groups during low traffic hours.
2. I don't like guilds or being forced to interact with people. Sometimes I like to talk to others in game but most of the time it annoys me.
3. I want to be able to run through at my own pace.

Doing this won't affect the people who want to do it in groups with other players. It is a choice, therefore if you don't want to do it this way then don't do it! Some of use just want to enjoy the game without other people.

THE END
1.) Revenge is a dish best served cold. 2.) Revenge is sweet. Therefore Revenge = ice cream

then you're playing the wrong type of game. Champions Online is like this pretty much..no real reason to group....it was a big part of it's "failure" and drive to becoming f2p.

The LAST thing SWTOR needs is to be made more like a single player game than it already is.

there's PLENTY of solo content to take you to 50 and get gear for your level. There is NO REASON to make what group content the game does have able to be solo'd at the level it's intended for.

MMO's are made for groups of people. It wasn't until WoW that soloing became the preferable method for most. MMO's should not be able to have all content soloable.

Those, like you, that prefer to be alone all the time have plenty of content..and yes making everything soloable WILL ruin it for those that like to group..because why should we spend time dealing with others and taking long times to get a group together when we can just go solo it and get all the loot to ourselves???

seriously, doing this will drive away a lot of people like it did in Champions Online (to name just one example) it's a very poorly thought out idea that will have profound negative effects on the game as a whole.

oh and btw..I prefer to solo as well..before you peg me as a hardcore group/raider...I typically wait till I can go back and solo the FP's before I run them..I think I've run ONE flashpoint at the appropriate level (other than Esseles/Black Talon) over 8 characters that are all 20-35ish in level.

bad idea.

So I'm not the only one having problems with finding groups? That's actually a relief because I was starting to think that I was the problem here and that I had somehow been blacklisted by the people on my server.

It's also the reason to why my main argument against the ability to simply buy PvP gear would be that there's no such option for PvE. As an avid PvP'er I feel like I would have a slightly better chance at playing with the more hardcore PvE'ers if I atleast had some decent gear. As of now I don't have a single endgame PvE item, due to never being able to find people to play HM'es with.

I hear that blackhole commendations will be possible to earn in single player mode and that the commendation prices on tionese (columi?) will be lowered but it's still going to take quite some time to get geared unless people or the LFG system change.

Fantastic for YOU, since YOU have no trouble then no one else should worry.

Or he's simply a tank. There's a severe lack of tanks on my server so it's never a problem for them to find a group. Hell, there's probably two "LF1Tank" at all times. DPS on the other hand....

I get what your sayiing but WoW is solo friendly to the extreme and still holds millions of players across NA/EU. A lot of people are playing because there is expectation to be able to do stuff at end game without relying on other people. Maybe that is bad for the genre but it's still what people want.

EDIT: I highlighted the problem, taking long for groups is terrible for the health of the game
Our lack of a proper LFD tool will black out the sun!
Then we shall cancel our subs in the shade!

I would prefer these options instead:
1. Give more content for solo people.

Instead of soloing flashpoints, players can do special content with up to 3 of their companions!

The one thing that SW:TOR has that WoW doesn't have, is a companion system. They should capitalize on it and create content for it.

Make dailies or area content that requires you to use your companions effectively. Companion affection and gear should come into play. No other players can help. This is up to you and your companions only.

How this works is, 2 of your companions will be AI controlled, and you can normally control one as usual. So be sure to control the important one, like healer or tank.

This system is great because, now there is a reason to gear up all of your companions. There is reason to grind companion affection. It will increase the demand for companion gifts and gear and make the market flourish. It keeps people playing. It makes the Presence stat relevant.

It will offer content that WoW cannot offer, because WoW doesn't have a companion system. It may attract solo players from WoW to SW:TOR. There can even be a progression tree for solo players. We call this "story" content.

2. As mentioned, allow you to use companions to complete flashpoints.

This means you need at most 2 people to complete flashpoints by using your companions. I am not a fan of soloing flashpoints. You MUST group up for group content.
Yeah this is what I would prefer as well.......it would still keep the integrity of the flashpoints and make it very easy to complete. It isn't hard to find one other person; also the more solo content was a unfulfilled promise by BioWare.

What happened to our solo planet? a few dailies on Ilum hardly counts. Making flahspoints doable by Duo's and their companions and fulfilling the promise of a Viable solo end game would go a long way to open the game up to more playstyles.
