This game will settle in at a million or so subs and comfortably tread water in mediocrity and here is why.
Suppose you were renting a house and it had a deck that was mind blowing. This deck is so amazing you have parties every weekend just to show it off,it is unlike any deck ever built.
But all the appliances in the house are not working properly. The stove doesn't heat evenly, the fridge light constantly shorts out, the washer tears up your clothes etc..
The deck is the story in SWTOR, the rest of the game is the appliances.
The excuse that it's a new launch is baloney, you wouldnt release a new car today with no power steering because "it's a new launch".
They pushed all their chips in with the story thing and didnt come out with what are essentials in todays mmo world.
Those of us who love its uneven cooking *** will stay but it will never become a juggernaught.
At this time, for me personally.. it doesn't have the pull at all that WoW did originally. I already have multiple 50's and I just want more to do on them. There's only so much leveling one can do before all the awesome story just becomes space bar city.

Issues like daily quests that aren't available to all of my characters (PvP dailies specifically).

Raid Frames issues in warzones where multiple people will not show in them (a ***** for a healer).

Getting stuck all over the place (had to use my hearth because I was stuck on some boxes in a building in Quesh yesterday) and the flow of moving through the world and getting stuck in/on random crap is.. not as smooth as it should be.

Overall questing mechanics are lack luster. I feel like I'm spending more time on my speeder going back and forth than actual questing/killing mobs (missed that two pack back at the beginning for your "bonus" have fun running through the dungeon again). The amount of "Alien" speak on the republic side is extrememly dissapointing as well. How much did that random jibberjabber cost to throw in the game?

We have been paying for beta. Most of the crap in 1.2 should have been introduced at launch. Top it off with the soft gear resets (introducing a new set only a few measly months after release?), dailies and already obsoleting alot of original content with 1.2 shows Bioware is content with following the same exact path as WoW.. and it just makes me feel that about the only thing original they can even come up with is legacy and space combat which is just pretty meh in the whole scheme of things.

I feel that in the push to bring out 1.2 alot of basic fixes have been push to the back burner.

I don't know everything that 1.2 will bring but I have a feeling it will only fall short of my expectations.

Traditional mmo players like my wife wont even consider swtor due to the theme.
Fact is most players prefer the sword, board and magics theme.
i think the fact is most players perfer the "push button, get purple colored loot"mmos like world of warcraft.and sw tor is a example

I think you're wrong. The game is too casual-friendly. PLUS it's Star Wars, and done proper too, not pixelated SWG avatars.

Give the game a year to polish things out and add the proper tools into the game. . .and then a year to build up the massive following. Blizzard is scared right now, and they should be.

Because the developers told me "It has the bells and whistles of a modern (car)"

Take out car, replace it with MMO, and that is a direct quote from the devs.
Meanwhile, in Tera general chat -

"The sad thing is, arguing with fanbois on the forums was more entertaining than their 300 million dollar single player MMO from 2008"

"I love the game, but the only good part about this game is the story, and everything else about the game is utter trash."

Your OP broke my brain...

I did raise an issue with the GM in game about getting stuck and he like contacted me straight away and told me to type forward slash stuck in the chat line and I will report to the medic. Cool and thanks...

Thinks... thinks... er no sorry, nothing ... mmm thinks. Sorry. Anyway I better go have my tea. Sadly the oven is busted and its likely to burn the house down. Bloody thing... made by somebody called Blizzad, ard..er ord... or something.

You know I thought like your wife until I tried Mass Effect. I learned to like space as much as fantasy. I am sure glad I did too. Don't get me wrong, Dragon Age was better than Mass Effect to me, but I like this space stuff now too.

MMO's are a constantly changing thing. MMO's receive constant patches, updates, upgrades and the like. Cars do not. Cars cannot be patched or anything, so they must be complete at creation.

I'm sick of this stupid argument. It doesn't make any sense. MMO's are not cars, please stop comparing them to cars.
Metaphor... lol how's that?
I'm here in an official capacity; and that capacity is to kick your donkey.
