How does the "Objectives" column on warzone score boards work?

What counts as an objective in each warzone?

I took the screenshot below following a match myself and two friends entered. The match was 0-3 against our team. By doing nothing more than relaying the ball (I remained in the endzone, stealthed, while the other two ran the ball into the pit to pass), we turned that into a 5-4 victory. All 5 goals are a result of the three of us relaying the ball. I personally walked all 5 across the goal. The other two that were with me (Assault and Battery) were awarded Objective points, but I was not. So I am a little confused about how it is scored.

For the record, it wasn't that big of a deal as I am capped on Valor until I level, have all the level 40 gear I could want, and have 1000 WZ commendations. I did it for fun, and because I hate losing. I am more curious about the mechanic as something seems a bit off.

Objective Points:
Civil War - defensive points for being near your turret, constantly ticking up. offensive points for being near enemy turret, constantly ticking up.

Voidstar - defensive points both for staying near your door on defense, constantly ticking up. And for protecting an armed door on offense.

Huttball - defensive points for healing the ball carrier, damaging the ball carrier, or taking damage as the ball carrier.

Reason you got no objective points is probably because you held it for a short while, took no damage, and was no where near the ball the rest of the time. Objective points are just a bonus, thats why you only need 4 medals to max out. Any class can get that without them, leaving you to do things that are clearly more beneficial to your team. As with every PvP game ever made, you catering to your stats and catering to your teams overall win needs to be a good balance.

Thank you for the info/clarification. I wasn't complaining so much as a little confused, but your post cleared that up.

This isn't exactly accurate.

Huttball...you get defender points for:
-damaging the ball carrier
-damaging enemy players on your goal line

Voidstar...
-damaging players around an armed bomb
-damaging players while a teammate defuses

Civil War...
-defending a node you control.

These are the only ways to get defender points and subsequently the two related medals in Warzones.

Haha, I understand. It is a little confusing and the only WZ i've been able to ensure I get my defensive points and medals is civil war. I've felt like I've spent an entire huttball around the ball, doing damage and taking it with no medal.

@Bioware - add a scrolling ticker with defensive points gain. People who want it can have it on and people who don't can turn it off. Would make it incredibly easy to decipher when your getting it or not.

@Tyr - thx for the corrections, wasn't sure on exact specifics. There are defensive and offensive objective points though. Offensive points don't count towards any medals(go figure) but they do tick and are posted on the end score screen.

I havent exactly confirmed this, but i believe you also get ~100 objective points for passing the ball in huttball
