Free transfers in the future?

I would pay for a character transfer service.

My server, Niman, peaks at about 80 people in the Empire Fleet. Early day and later night it's 5-20 people. Republic has it even worse. In warzones i'm mostly playing against other Empire players. Not much fun, feels like an expensive single player game.

Thanas on Sunday evening has less than 40 people on the fleet. Quite sad. The ones that are on fleet are already decked out in purples so why would they run a Flashpoint. NO chat, NO one responds to group request, NO LFG options and NOT going to re-sub when it runs out unless this changes dramatically.

Hey that new content looks cool too bad no one will get see it.

This sadly feels like a Jim Mora skit. Operations! Don't talk to me about Operations. You got to be kidding me!

I dont post a lot in the forums but... on this note yes I agree they need to offer some kind of xfer option. I have soe 50's on one server and started rep on a different server that my rl friends started on. I would love to transfer my 50's over to this server to have them all on the same server now bc of legacy releasing. No one knew any of this information about legacy until they released it after the game had already begun. now everyone is scrambling. Do a free server transfer once for each character. this isll fix server loads possibly and allow for you "bioware" to consolidate servers with low pops. I say this bc you have WAY too many servers out there right now for this early of a release of a game. thanks!

I can see how people hopping servers all over could cause some issues, so I would not expect an instant move. But I think a request to transfer system could be implemented, where basically you go to your web page account and request char XXX to be moved from server YYY to server ZZZ and have it occur, lets say, within an hour. The delay would discourage constant hopping but still allow you to move today and play. They could also implement not moving a particular char more than once a week lets say.

To me, that would be enough to cover a good portion of the need.
I don't know if this is a Sith thing, but at the beginning of every game conversation my first thought is "You are so dead"...

due to health concerns of the servers, a force transfer/merge would be free...this was done in warhammer and EA never charged...

However if they offer paid...people would happily pay now to get a good gaming experience for their bucks

The game badly needs merges, along with server caps being raised.

A heavy server, there isn't many of them, are not even that heavily populated.

Standard servers are just a joke and feel like very low pop.

This is one of the reasons I have cancelled my account. It's a shame, this game had so much potential.

I am quite surprised that we haven't already seen the introduction of server transfers.

Those on "heavy servers" take a number of things for granted. Those on "standard" or "light" servers (and especially those Republic players on said servers) have ghost towns to contend with ... take it from someone who levelled a toon all the way on a "standard" server, who has bitten the bullet and decided to give this game another shot, but on a busier server.

I spoke with a CS Agent live, in-game regarding this issue.

He/she said, in response to my question as to when server transfers will be available to everyone, not just asia pacific players, said April.

When I specified that I thought that was solely Asia Pacific, he said there was nothing in their information that said it was exclusive to those players. They've already received their notices and should be moving in the coming weeks, should they so choose.

He then asked several other members of the CS team and returned saying there was nothing definitive other than that, but that they knew it was something Bioware was working on.

In this week's Community Q&A the question was also asked, and they stated they want it implemented in the near future.

A colossal screw-up by Bioware IMHO. They anticipated wayyyy more players apparently than they received and now the majority of servers are ghost towns. I'm on Veeboo Lunx and fleet on weekends is only about 40-50, finding HM anything is literally impossible and operations forget it. It takes an hour or two just to find 4 players for normal FP's, and Warzone queues are in the half hour range any time of day. It's pretty unbelievable to me that Bioware wouldn't have a character transfer system setup at launch, this is now a standard of MMO's and the fact that they put up sooo many servers that are becoming more and more useless by the day is almost a point of arrogance on their part. I hope they realize their numbers are dwindling daily.

And to the response of "stop complaining and just reroll on another server", you think everyone has time to just make a new character after they've spent countless hours playing one to 50? People in the real world have jobs and lives that require a much more massive time commitment than this game. We come here to relax every so often. Ridiculous I have to pay for this kind of stupidity with my time and money. Bioware do your job please. If character transfer is not present with 1.2 in April sometime you will lose a massive chunk of subs and will get smoked come May 15th when D3 takes over. I love the changes you are implementing and the game mechanics, but the point of these games is generally to play with other people to enjoy the full scope of the online experience, hence massive multiplayer, I'm sure you know transfers should have been in place from the start.
