I gave one of my friends the free trail for 7 days.

When he tried it today he could start the game but, when it came to the servers he could not pick any because they did not show up on the screen..

Any idea what is makeing this problem?

Hello MrMedve,

Please try to work through the following trouble-shooting list to try to resolve the blank server list problem.
Make sure that you are running the game with administrator privileges.
Importantly, could you also check that the date and time are set correctly on both your Windows clock settings and BIOS clock.

Please wait at least 3 minutes on the server page and confirm that the list has not been populated then please remove and re-add "swtor.exe" and “launcher.exe” to the list of exceptions of your firewall, disable any programs similar to "peer-blocker" and restart your Router.

Be aware that we do not recommend turning off firewall or your internet security completely.

If you are not sure how to set up exceptions for their firewall or internet security software please refer to following pages when using the Windows built-in firewall:
Windows 7
Windows Vista
Windows XP
(Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content of other websites.)

If you are using a 3rd party software or Internet security software with built-in firewall please refer to the manual you received with your software package. If you don't have a manual, please visit the website of the software developer.

Also make sure you have only one firewall working at the same time. Never use a firewall delivered with your internet security software package together with your windows firewall - turn one of them off.

Don't use a proxy - it may interfere with the communication between your client and our servers. If you are on a public network like on the campus of a university or a hotel, contact the network administrator because they may block some ports used for server communication.

We also recommend that you turn off any software you are not using as long as you play Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Please let us know how your friend gets on.

Greetings MrMedve,

Could your friend also double-check the time zone settings he has added to the account information. This can be checked in the Account Management page on swtor.com.

If this does not help, would it be possible for you to post his Dxdiag and launcher logs, so we can get an idea of what might be going wrong.
You can find details on how to get these files here.

Thanks you for all your help and your continued patience.
