At most, I could see the ranked gear having the slot. But, ideally, I'm for anything that favors diversification of look.

can someone clarify for me

In 1.2 the best gear is going to be crafted, crit oranges. The reason for this is with the ability to remove all mods from armor, including armor rings, from pvp pieces; you can simply remove those mods and put them in an Orange crit piece and get the benefit of an Augment as well

can someone point me in the direction that explains how this works. seems i don't know a lot about getting crit oranges or how to remove mods

thanks

Basically when you ctrl+right click on an armor set you get a small window with the stuff that is in your armor, now if you drag them to you inventory you have to pay a fee that costs way too much, about 35k a piece with a total of 15 items making it 525k credits total to remove them all.
Now you can buy a new shell of armor that offers an extra slot for another items that is used to make your armor better. This means that people who can craft this orange gear can make the best gear in game or sell the shell for crazy prices. Even better than tier 4 gear.

hmmm....interesting. Have you played on the PTS? If so, mind taking a screenie of the vendor and posting it?

I personally think 500k is cheap. You won't do it till BM. You'll likely get off cheap on the BM comms.

Assuming some facts not in evidence:

Armoring, mod, enhancement.

Which contain the expertise is all that matters.

Right now these are not equipment type bound.

They've inherently made the BM set about 50% cheaper to acquire the expertise. You'll likely mix in mods and enhancements or (armor), depending on where they place expertise in the pulled BM set, from your Rakata or Columni sets.

Thus stacking only the power. By accuracy and alacrity! Hello more power.

I don't think people who aren't cybertech understand fully the modding system.

There is a huge way to stack stats beyond what even some think given most sets in even BM don't always let you fully stack every stat you want.

Take Gunslinger. Enforcer set. I have field medic chest. There is no power chest bm.

I can now make a power stacked chest on top of the expertise with a power augment.

Ontop of stacking mods/enhancements for power.

I'd like to see this first but don't think people see the ability to stat/stack power yet until they see what cross pve armor gets integrated into that orange set.

Going to have some very interesting armor.

Are you people claiming that it isn't prestigious to wear level 14 pants with green kneecaps, level 26 chestpieces with pockets on the right side, and a lev 22 helm that's SORT OF green like your pants but not quite?

I know they've aluded to doing something like that, but my impression is it wouldn't be in 1.2 and that there was no timeframe on that addition. If 1.2 went live with that vendor that would completely fix this problem, but I don't believe that's the case.

100% agree; I love everything in 1.2 but this--this will kill the patch for me. Forcing a player to where ugly low level oranges in order to min/max is horrid design. And no, I'm not going to drop my professions to go synthweaving/armormech and reverse engineer all of my endgame hard earned purple gear for a 1/10 chance of getting an orange schematic then spending pointless hours on boring RNG praying for a crit slot.

This needs to change.
