So Teach Me

I've noticed that in huttball, cc seems to work just fine on me (shadow tank) where I'll be at the goal line being stunned chain, knocked back, the works. Somehow, other classes suddenly can't be cced at all. My pull in the shadow tree fails more often then it succeeds. My instinct (based on other games) is to yell and scream hacks! But my brain slows down and I go, there has to be an explanation for this. And a way to combat it. I've noticed it the most on sith juggernauts, though I've seen it happen on numerous classes, all empire (its a extremely empire dominated server, so that's no surprise that in huttball all I ever see is empire).

My thinking is that its some sort of ability that makes a person immune to cc. Possibly able to cast on other players?

Maybe absorb or defense or something stacked gear has something to do with it? But it's hard for me to believe somebody is already stacked in one stat 10-49 huttball, but hey it's possible.

Is there a barely functioning immunity timer to cc? I'll notice, in other cases not just huttball, I'll use one of my stuns on a player. If I immediatly follow up with another stun, it doesn't work. Yet, if somebody does it with me, I get stunned, start moving, get stunned again, start moving, get stunned again, etc etc. So maybe there is a bioware bug with immunity timers?

Teach me, I'm listening and would love to know how to combat it.

Resolve ah. Why is this the first time I'm hearing of this. Grrr. OK well, figured it out.

Juggernauts have a Talent in the Vengeance Tree, that makes them immune to CC 4 Seconds after charging someone.

And for the fact that it's a Tier 3 Talent, most Jugger-Tanks have skilled that too.

Sounds like either your team filled up their resolve bar in non-critical areas (happens frequently unfortunately ) or its a skill. I know guardians get "saber ward" which makes us immune to tech and force attacks for a few seconds, i always pop it when heading for the GL in huttball.

Not sure if other classes get one to. I know commandos don't.
Better to be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt

Ah OK. I was just about to post that after further reading, some cc's are still supposed to work even if the resolve bar is full, like pulls for example. Doesn't explain how a sorc can suddenly become immune to my pull, but we are on our way there!

My shadow has something similiar. My sage does not. But good thinking, I didn't think of that either.

Pull from Shadow/Sith Assassin is affected by resolve : you cannot pull someone with a white resolve bar. Same with knockdown.

Root on the other hand is not affected by resolve. However it's counted as a tech attack, so a Sith Assassin who pop his 'immune' CD will not be affected.

If you're being force-choked, other opponents can beat you up for free. There is also this skill in the Sorc Madness tree which allows stuns when when Whirlwind breaks. Not sure if it's bugged or not, but it definitely feels like you are being beaten for longer than just 2 seconds.

Pulling opposite team is affected by resolve bar. What they need to change is have same team pull also be affected. It is TOTAL BS and complete cheese to have someone be pulled off the goal line down to the pit, get stunned to stop him from throwing the ball leading to resolve cap, only to have a teammate pull him right out of there with a 100% failsafe rescue/extrication.

My issue with the Shadow's pull is really due to server latency(im assuming). Like if I run and jump off a ledge, then in mid air(past the ledge) pull my opponent/ball carrier, then it will pull them directly onto the ledge, while I sit there in the pit.

I dunno if this is because of latency, or momentum physics or what, but it sure is annoying.
