Voidstar they also have more "mobility". While a guardian gets a cap and spams his aoe snare so his team can get a quick 4 cap win, a shadow has stealth and sprint and is arguably a bigger asset in voidstar play (along w/ aoe snare).

Guardians only really outshine, and marginally, shadows in huttball play. Not to mention a kinetic spec can sprint out of my snare and get away from AOE range; if a guardian is snared and he jumps, he is still snared.
If a guardian charges you and you stun him, he lands stunned at your feet.

If a shadow is sprinting and gets stunned he stops immediately

If you just wan't to compare all dps specs against sent/mara then nothing is viable. Guardian is the best tank for peels but does little damage. These problems always arise when a game has more than one class per role. Hybrid leaning classes are less efficient at roles than pures. The Devs trying to turn a ranged cloth caster into a tank or a melee dps should have been a huge red flag for anyone trying to pick a safe/long term viable class at release.

What makes a sentinel (watchman or combat?) so good for premades?

Here is a quote from one of my guildies on our Matchless private forums

"Powertech/Vanguard: Charge AND Pull makes for great utility, plus "MOTOR" Strike is an amazing ranged AOE. But IMO what really makes this tank AC stand out from other in PvP is it's AOE taunt which is 30m ranged, making it WAY more usefull in PvP(Sin and Jug AOE taunts are PBAOE) because taunting only works when those affected by it aren't attacking you. So basically you can just AOE taunt non stop into big battles while picking off stragglers or protecting healers. So IMHO, PTs are the best PvP tanks for Protection/Taunting.

Assassin/Shadow: Force Speed, Force Wave and Force Pull adds a lot of utility, especially for when getting ganked by several players, combined with it's great defensive CDs. Out of the 3 ACs it is probably the best for single target DPS, coupled with some great CCs. But most of all, STEALTH, a tank with stealth and vanish makes it the best soloing ability for PvP tanking."

kinetic shadows kick out of stealth and its on a 20 sec cooldown with the tank set, and its very possible to keep someone locked down for longer than 10 seconds if you want.

The knockback, stun, and spinning kick can all be used back to back without filling the resolve meter fully if done right. That doesn't even include an interrupt, which I usually use early instead of stuns, or grip which works too. I can lock something down much longer than 7 seconds.

I think the mistake here though is to assume we're supposed to pester healers or do dps. A shadow floater will be able to make or break matches where the competition is tight.

You can't look at this game in a rock paper scissors counter-everything way. Objectives will be the goal in rated matches, and we excel at that. Our utility is almost perfectly put together that I'm actually afraid they might nerf it.

You know- you are right, depending on everything- it's not all about killing. There is not one warzone match right now that is a team deathmatch.

All the warzones are objective based- thats how you win warzones.
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Well that was super elitist.

But remember, a guardian needs a target. Your 8 man premade won't be stupid enough to let me make giant advances w/ force leap, so I can really only utilize guardian leap on a 20 second cool down.

Oh wow, that's the same as force sprint.

I think there are a lot of set ups we haven't seen AND a lot of ways to counter a guardian in huttball.

Hell if you keep talking about 8 man premades remember, you won't be stunning me at inopportune times, leaving my resolve for your pulls and fire stuns or pulls down into the pit.
