1.2 makes valor rank worthless pretty much. The new War Hero gear is better than BM, and can be worn by fresh 50's

That's part of it, but it's the important part. If winning or losing a warzone doesn't impact my gear progression (much) then there's less focus on simply gear progression (and the resulting impulse to maximize my time, and thus, my wins) and more focus on just having fun, hanging out, and not sweating it if the matchmaking system sucks cack or not.

Edit: And to clarify, I don't quit matches for the hell of it, the challenge of a hard match that is barely won is very enticing to me. I'd much rather play a game where my team barely wins than one where my team decimates the opposing team. Often times if it's the former I'll stay regardless because I find the tough matches fun. When it becomes unfun to me is when my team is so outmatched it's not possible. If I'm having fun, I stay. If I'm not having fun I leave. Sometimes having fun hinges on whether or not I'm completing dailies because that's my only avenue to getting better gear and I just want to get my last win in for the day. Post 1.2 that won't be the case.

I just think that making win/loss indifferent has a very bad effect - people stop caring, and to me that is no fun.

Totally agree, there needs to be an incentive to win, or there really is no point, might as well reroll on a pvp server then and just farm nubs on Nar Shaddaa.

Demanding same reward win or loose is a bit like the factory worker having to make the same amount of money as the Managing Director.

I hate loosing in warzones, and I hate having to farm medals even when winning, just so I can get just as much valor as the loosing team, that system clearly just doesn't work, that's like giving me a penalty for winning, and giving the prize to the looser.

That's where we have differing opinions. I recently stopped playing 50 warzones because of the tedium and frustration of solo queue coupled with the only real path to progression requiring wins in a system that was heavily weighted in favor of people who don't solo queue. I focus all my pvp time now on pre-50 where I have a blast. The new system is enticing me to play 50 warzones again precisely because winning or losing isn't the only point.

No, it has been confirmed that War Hero gear will not require any valor rank to obtain or wear.
